High angle inner CV boots

Anyone here installed these. I think bimrunner has them.

I got them from CVJ..and will install them while doing the extended LT axles... they are red and longer than the stock inner with a more flexible material.

They have an o-ring on the outside of one of the ribs. Does this stay in place after install?

Cool.. I thought it might be there to hold the shape.. The material is pretty flimsy. I'm a bit conflicted about installing these vs OEM boots.

Had mine on for 10 months or so, no issues at all.
You will need to cut and reuse part on the oem inner boot to make the mounting surface match the tulip. It's pretty self explanatory.

Why is that. I have an OEM boot kit and they look basically the same to me. They included some type of additional rubber flange, but I assume that is only required for a different application.

Hmm Yours may be different than mine then. I picked up mine from Offroad Solutions
You can see the black where the mounting surface from the oem boot is reused

Meh, go rcv and be done with boots. That's what I'm doing next. Had an CVJ boot rip doing high speed articulation a few weeks ago. Not a hard replacement but I was disappointed. They said "that's unusual for so new but not covered under any warranty." I have a spare but if I tear another one I'll do the swap and order the $$$ rcv with stronger cvs and lifetime warranty on everything.

At least the inner is an easy swap even if contaminated...

RCV making toyota CVs again? I know they had stopped for a while with issues.. Even so...you would still have an innner boot. Just the outer is gone.

also 2,500 WOW... notice in the link they show a CV with regular boots. Maybe the found the bootless just did not work. http://www.rcvperformance.com/product-details.aspx?sku=CVJIFS-TOY2

Yes. They are making them again. 2 month lead time though.

I also run the CVJ high angle red boot plus All Pro's high angle outer boot. No issues for me and you want to leave the rubber band looking thing on.

I too will probably be upgrading my axles to RCV and keep the CVJ built ones as spares as bimrunner is going to do.

Very interesting. I suppose they are still ~$2,500 a set, but with the lifetime warranty.

I wonder if a bit more droop could be run with them and a top hat spacer or if the tie rod would bind up first. I'm curious to see where all the limits are with +2. I know the limit straps are suppose to be a bit off full coil over extension, but I still feel that is there to protect the shocks more than the CVs... We will see. .

Can anyone else speak to install on the red boots. Did you just throw them on like a standard inner or does something need to layer to get a tighter fit.

Just install CVJ boot as is. No layer needed on the boots I just put on. The RCV are $2500 and should give more articulation according to RCV.
