Same thing is happening to me... Only thing that is weird is that I Replaced all my vacuum hoses with a kit from LCE Engineering and still the problem persists... Im at a loss as well.

what kind of gas mileage are you getting?

I was gonna do a vacuum hose kit next too, I've gone around my vacuum hoses with carb cleaner and sprayed around looking for leaks but found nothing

I'm so tired of searching for the root of this problem.

Mine is 3.0 V6, manual transmission, 99% of the time i'm in 2 wheel High. i'm getting 320 KM to a 57L tank (200 miles for 15 Gallons) = 12.5 MPG.

For what it's worth, my 3.0 goes through a tank in around 220-240 miles which is what I've come to believe is about right for mixed mpgs on these old motors. And I battled a high idle issue for over a year and cleaned my throttle body (without removing it) several times and it still idled high. Two weeks ago I pulled the throttle body all the way off and gave it a real good cleaning and cleaned and lubed the spring that closes the throttle plate and bam idles perfectly, haven't had a problem now. Even if your throttle body looks clean, I'd suggest maybe pulling it off and cleaning it.

Well... Im getting a little worse than you guys. I'm sitting at about 170 Miles per tank. Im Kinda tired of spending so much for gas(at about 50$ a tank). Even after the vacuum kit install.

I am having the same problem as most on here, p-poor gas mileage, I have checked it 4 times as in miles traveled and gas used. It average out to 189 miles to a full tank. As I am retired and on a fixed income, that just doesn't cut it. Now I do live in the mountains and its all up hill to go anywhere. I tried it with the overdrive on and off no different. With the overdrive off I run at a higher rpm. I have checked my vacuum lines a couple of times and think they are hooked up right, as far as I can tell.

Last week it started stumbling, idle rough, smooth up and run great and then stumble again, floor board it and it bogs down, every thing is new, including the motor, complete rebuild about 800 miles ago. Its a 1993 4 runner with a 3.0 v 6. a friend of mine just totaled his truck but the motor is good, it a 3.4 or 3.5 if I didn't have so much money in mine I would buy his from him( when he figgures out what he is going to do)

Have you cleaned your throttle body. If not I would start there. After I cleaned my throttle body and replaced some vacuum hoses my truck went from a 2100 idle to about 1200 and the gas has improved slightly. Im with you though if I had money I swap a 3.4 into her.

I'd think about getting a cheap beater car. Litterally last night I went and picked up a 1987 mazda 626 for $400.00 that gets like 30 MPG. She looks like absolute crap but she runs and drive and I barley paid anything for her. Now my runner is parked and im only going to take her on the weekends.
