HIGH temp

I was driving home from work today and i had the heat on low and when i looked at my temp gauge it had gone up to about 210-220 as soon as turned the heat off and put it on cool the temp went back down to about 165 where it normaly stays at. I was thinking it might me the thermostat sticking also i thought if it was a over heating issue that you usually turn the heat on to drop the temp? So maybe a bad temp gauge? Also its an aftermarket temp gauge.

Start small.
Replace the thermostat and make sure you have it insterted correctly.
Hope that's your problem.

Had a similar sitiation with my 3veezyyy
Got tired of the truck running hot so I pulled the fan clutch, did the ford taurus electric fan mod, replaced the thermostat & radiator, flushed my system and got a new radiator cap.
Runs cool in tripple digit heat with the AC blasting :thumb3:

Look down in your radiator when it's cooled off. Willing to bet I still had the OEM radiator in mine. TONS of calcium build up and little calcium looking rocks settled in my radiator along with poor coolant circulation.

Probably could have gotten away with just a new radiator...But really wanted to do the e-fan mod. :redbrick:

Keep us posted

not sure whats up with this thermostat when I pulled it lol
