Higher angle inner CV joint options for 4th gens?

Bump, I think RCV is back but their axles are crazy expensive.

I was just thinking about this the other day, that it would be cool to have a bit more travel without installing longer a-arms. With my setup though the UCA uniball cup hits the spring on full droop, so I need to clock the spring so it clears between the springs. Maybe I need to machine some of that UCA uniball cup down too. If I want even more it looks like I could throw on a top spacer and machine the cups down on the axles. Would be cool to see the travel numbers I could get.

I did this a while ago since seeing this thread, figured I would throw the information in here and not just my build thread:



I will be machining them like what Dirt King recommends, for good measure.






22* taper, machined the cup back .050" for good measure, then chamfered all the edges.

I used both the SDHQ boots, the All Pro boots called for reusing part of the factory boots, which I threw away earlier and also thought was a stupid idea.

Another interesting way at going about it.

Just some feedback as referenced in post numero uno, I have been running my setup for about 4-5 years now and I have not once had any issues. No bind, abnormal wear, cv boot issues, etc. I'm not even running a diff drop as I personally don't think it helps much (it didn't then...).

I'm fully confident in this route I took.
