This a great deal and an easy swap someone! These things are alot harder to come by now that JDMNZ is gone.

The field monitor looks nice, but what I was impressed with was the guys ebay listing. That has to be one of the most detailed, informative Ebay listings I've ever seen... wiring information, measurements, photos of it powered up, he even included links to write-ups. Whoa.

Don (jdmisme) is one of the best Ebayer's to deal with and he certainly knows his car stuff...there are no worries at all when buying something from him. He picked up a ton of JDM stuff for my 4Runner (http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/61464-jdm-tyte-yo.html) as well as some stuff for my wife's old WRX.

You should def do it. I've had mine almost 6yrs now and still love it.

Being that you have an '02 runner as well, switching the sunroof controls from the 2-button style, to the 1-button is a breeze. You simply remove your stock sunroof controls and reinstall them (plus the lense cover) onto the FMU.

They say the sunroof versions still fit and look good in a non sunroof 4runner with minor trimming...

You really should get it, I don't regret one bit getting mine, best interior mod ever. Especially since it's already in your color.

I'll look for one of these next time i go to the caribbean, JDM surfs were shipped to all over the caribbean and you can get these in scrap yards for less that $50

I had a non sunroof model overhead console (stock 99-02) and was gonna mod it to fit my truck, if its anything like that, it is not a simple trim and swap, they are not setup to put a sunroof clicker in, the light wiring is different and there you will also be down a light, and you would really have to figure out how to mount the switch assembly to the console.

I think you are thinking the opposite of what I said. I'm saying he get the sunroof model, and put it in his non sunroof 4runner. If it were me I would take the sunroof guts out of it and put in switches for lights or something in that spot. I don't think he would be losing a light, he'd go from the 2 lights in his stock overhead console to the 2 lights in the FMU.
