Honda Head Unit in my T4R?

I'm sure it can be done but I think getting it to fit might be a tough, honestly I wouldn't even waste my time. I'd just spend money and get a aftermarket HU and the install kit,

+3 on after market HU. I have yet to see a stock HU from any manufacturer better than a decent after market. They are a lot easier to install as well.
But if you must use the CRV HU then you are going to have to get the pin out for the wiring and determine which wires are which and then get a universal to Toyota harness and match them up. If the CRV HU used factory amps from the vehicle you removed it from then your install went from hassle to nightmare and I would definitely go for an after market.

You would need two harnesses,one that plugs into the radio then another to plug into the existing Toyota wiring. Metra does offer both harnesses.
Like the other people asked,why do you want to install it? You'll probably have to modify the mounting brackets and probably the dash opening. And going by personal experience,that radio will require you to enter a security code once it's powered up...hope you know someone at a Honda dealer willing to look up the code,especially on a radio that's not currently installed in the original vehicle.

Thanks for the replies guys. I don't care to upgrade. My stock HU works fine, but the volume bezel keeps breaking off and it's annoying. I wanted a "fix" without spending any money and I have a stock Honda HU laying around. I rather spend any extra money on off road parts :biggrin1:
Hmm...maybe I will get a new HU. But that's ~$100 I could be putting towards a new bumper. Decisions...

Ok then. Park your 4runner for the night. Pull the volume cap off. Add a touch of the $8 worth of Gorilla glue you will buy. Let sit overnight. Next morning the volume knob is on for a rather long time.
