Hood Latch Problem

So I found out today my hood latch mechanism is broken. I can pull the latch inside the car and the hood pops up. But when I went to work the lever under the hood, the lever was flopping loose and as I felt around a little more a metal arm fell onto the ground.

I'm pretty sure I know how this happened. I had to have something done to the car in the last week and I think the shop broke it.

Regardless, I am going to fix it. Does anyone have a diagram of what the mechanism looks like? Or maybe a photo of where I have to push/pull on the latch to get it to fully release so I can open the hood.

Oops - I should add that it is a 2008 SR5.

I see the link to a jpg file but I don't see an actual diagram. Am I doing something wrong?

ETA: I think maybe you have the pic in an album that isn't 'public'.

Could someone open their hood and take a photo of the release linkage mounted on the back of the hood? I just need to see what I am trying to do to get it to open up. It's difficult to tell when there's only a small crack to look in.
