Hood release issue

After I release the hood cable the secondary latch won’t release unless I reach in and actually pull down on the rod with my hand. The lever won’t do it. Any adjustment I can make?

Did you **** with the grill at all? I installed my hood release latch upside down and I had to manually open like you said.

No haven’t touched anything. Opened fine, then all of a sudden no. Lubed it and it worked okay then, but that only worked once.
