Horizontal headlight aiming

Went to check for the horizontal headlight adjustment knob on my new HID retrofit lights prior to installing them (probably on Saturday) and I realized there's no knob there that you can actually turn per the manual.

Referenced the OEM headlight housings still in the truck and same deal, no horizontal adjustment knobs. Can anyone shed any light on this? Am I completely missing the boat here?

Why would they point out where these adjustment knobs are in the manual if they don't actually exist/function?

There is only vertical adjustment, as in up and down. The adjuster looks like this and can be adjusted with a philips head screw driver or a 8mm socket or wrench........ http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/63007-headlight-aiming.html#post527781

Yep, I've got the vertical located and sorted but one of the manuals I read showed the location for the horizontal ones. There is a plastic knob there but it doesn't actually do anything and is in fact molded into the plastic...

Curious as to which manual you refer to? Can you find it and quote it? Agree with [MENTION=8206]harper7[/MENTION], never heard of such a thing.

Interesting. I apologize - I thought you were crazy, but it's sure in the manual all right. I wonder if that's non-US models?

Yeah, I was going crazy last night trying to figure it out as well. Odd. In any case, looking forward to getting these headlights installed tomorrow
