hot shot starter relay

has anyone either bought or made your own hot shot starter relay to bypass the ignition switch and send more current to the starter solenoid to fix intermittent starter issues?

I did something like that on my 83 many years ago. I just used a push button switch to send 12V direct.

I'm in the process of doing that now, I ordered new contacts and plunger...
