How do I lock my steering wheel?

Might be a stupid question, but my steering wheel doesn't seem to lock. I just got my rack bushing kit, and the obvious thing to do when installing this is to lock your steering wheel so the rack isn't moving everywhere the whole time. On normal vehicles, when you turn the key off, you turn your steering wheel about a quarter or half turn and it locks in place. Mine doesn't seem to do this, I can shut the truck off and turn in freely. Is there a problem with the security system, can it be fixed simply? Thanks in advance.

:lookout: - Me while the truck is in off position.

That's cute.

Mine locks... Not sure why or how, but it does.

Also, when doing the bushings Vitaly had me moving the rack around quite a bit to get it around things and make things fit...

Maybe I shouldn't worry about it then. Only reason I asked is because of the installation of the bushings. Besides that, I don't really give a crap. Guess it would be a little nice though, just a safety issue.

TFJ-4runner, yup, even with the key still in the ignition in the off position, out of the ignition, out w/ the doors locked, it doesn't do anything. I've tried it all.

Alex, even my 84 locks up haha.

that$pit, you know anything about replacing it?

Ill ask the guys in the lock shop about it at work tommorow, but im pretty sure youll need to replace the whole key part of the ignition

Sounds like it's something that would be way too much work for what it does. It's not killing me, and if I can do this bushing kit without it having to be locked, then everything will be okay.
