How do you guys wash your cars after offroading?

Took her mudding a while ago, and all the mud and crap is still all there. How do you guys get your 4R looking real clean after?

Yep, power washer.. Inside the bumpers, inside the frame, on top of the skid plates. And next oil change you'll find what you missed.

yea if i power washed under the hood what about all the electronics like the battery area i dont wanna get that wet do I?

Some guys use simple green and a water source with no pressure coming from it to rinse or sponge it off with clean bucket water from what I've gathered. Still though being careful of the areas you mentioned.

sprinkler running under the truck for a while will get some of it before you pressure wash it.

I believe so. I haven't tested it, but from what I remember there are no chemicals etc in there to really mess things up. If you're really worried then just use some dawn soap. I know that won't hurt the paint.

Can have a dulling effect if left to sit too long; however, the film it leaves can easily be removed using a claybar or scratchX (or similar).

Simple green works great for loosening up the goo behind badges without much harm to paint / clearcoat. Rewax afterwards though...

If you are just removing mud / earth and not grease, plain old water does wonders :thumb3: Sprinkling as the other responder stated, is one of the most gentle and effective ways to cut through inches of mud / sand / foliage bits.

I spray the truck really quick with a pressure washer, mostly under the vehicle itself.

Don't use dawn unless your waxing it after. Dish soap pulls the wax right off.

If you want to make cleaning it easier next time spray the inner fenders and underside with Pam or similar cooking spray.

It will clean up much easier.
