How does the plastic seat shield that holds the power seat buttons attach?

When I reupholstered my seat, I took that cover off. It was a pain to get off. I think I weakened the built in clips that snap into the rail on the side of the seat. I got it on but it wouldn't stay in place and sometimes when I sat on the seat it would pop out a little and push the seat button off its stem. I did something creative with a zip tie and haven't messed with it for years.
If I remember right there's 2 clips (like plastic hooks) opposite each other (molded part of the trim piece. They clip into the metal rail somehow. I think mine were spreading apart and allowing it to pop outward. I took a few wire ties linked together and when around the two clips once they were inserted and they keep the clips "squeezed" together. There's also a lateral clip in the end that you have to insert underneath the metal rail (or another trim piece, can't remember) before you push it on. Then I believe there's a small screw on the back. So all in all I think there's 3 molded clips and a screw in the back.
Sorry for the vague description. Going off of memory of about 2 years ago. Just make sure all the clips are there and not broken off or bent. When the plastic is bent it turns white where is was bent back or forth and usually is not as strong as it was.

I just took mine apart and am reupholstering the seats..... so you get pix !
Slide the front on 1st( the arrow around the X), then the 2 tan clips push into the white piece around the switches, then the screw in the back.

Slobo and Wedgie you guys rule! I thought the lastic shield held the power switch module, now I see that the module is screwed to something on the seat and the shield is hled by the power module!
And thanks for the photos showing the slide on front part first.
I can likely figure it out fom here.
Now if I can just find a 2001-2002 shield and lumbar switch so I can relocate the lumbar swith down from the seatback...
Still not sure what the tab at the top mear the back fits on, mine is bent and floppy, will post a photo later when I get home.

That's the hot ticket! The '96-00 lumbar switch always falls out. I upgraded my '97 lumbar switch to the '01 setup, and it works great.
I've removed a number of these panels, and I think no matter how careful you are, one of the two tabs almost always breaks off. Fortunately one tab (plus the screw in the back) is usually enough to keep the piece in place.

Ughhh…PO had the seats recovered and the shop ground off the male metal piece towards the front of the rail (they had the harness running along the outside and the male “hook” was in the way).
With the front all floppy, a pant leg grabs it and pops all of the control buttons off and out of the truck.
There is a hole on the metal rail in the area of the ground-off hook…I plan to drill the plastic cover and use a small bolt, nut and 2 washers to secure.
