How feasible are 35s

I plan to lift my 4runner as soon as i am able to do it all correctly, I have been looking and as of late the look of 35s has been catching my eye more and more. I do not intend to take it for any offloading beyond logging roads for several years (until I am finished with pharmacy school) so offload capability is not an immediate issue for me. I was wondering how feasible it would be to run a tire along the lines of 285/75r18 on my STOCK limited 18" wheels
i plan to get a toytec 3" lift and either a 1 or 1.5" body lift. I could do a body mount chop if i had to but aside from that, would any serious fender trimming be required to run a tire that size? and would it be necessary to regear to avoid any damages with my full time 4wd?
Or would i be better off sticking with a roughly 33x11.5 tire and using a 1" body lift

Once you wheel and flex out your suspension, you will need to trim a lot more than just your body mount to fit a set of 35's even with a body lift. You don't need to regear with the V8 (or even with the V6) for most use cases, and that would just be for getting a bit of power back on the highway.

33's are the safer bet, much easier to fit and requires less permanent modification. They are cheaper and will still provide offroading capabilities suited to the rest of you current offroading mods which I'm guessing at this point is none.

35's look great, but I would get the 33's until you're done with school and know your rig a bit better and have an idea of what type of offroading you want to do, then buy the 35's.

I guess if you are just doing 'dirt road' driving for the time being, the 35's won't be as hard to fit, and they certainly look cool, but they are awfully expensive to pound concrete with if 33's get the same job done offroading for now.
