How man 3G'S have functioning A/C?

2002 87K runs nice and cold and much needed in Texas - never had anything done to it yet.

I Love My 4Runner  It beats the heat everyday!!

+1 on needing it in Texas. I drive a lot of short trips during the day and I use it all the time! Texas is not any cooler over south of Ft Worth. The weather lately has been really nice though.

226k Mine is so cold even on the hotest days I have to dial it back after the inside has cooled down. Hasn't been serviced in the time that I have owned the truck, about 4 years and I don't think it was serviced before then either. I washed the condenser the other day with APC and it's effectiveness increased yet again. Occasionally I see mist coming from the vents, it's cold enough to condense the humidity in front of the vents here in FL. The AC vents are usually beaded with moisture from condensate. Ball vent keeps drinks cold too!

I have two also. 208K on my wife's and it's one of many reasons she loves that truck. Her Altima had the A/C fail 3 times in 3 years. 278K on mine and it works fabulously!

I have a feeling that I'm going to end up going to the dealer when i go back for my inspection... as long as i'm moving the engine stays cool... pullover for 20 min and it starts to overheat. I'll keep everyone updated.

I'm just glad that all these AC's are still up and running!

Blows at 45 to 60. Figured out the expansion valve is the culprit. Ordered a new one today along with a new drier and compressor.

4runners have a/c? That must be that button I only turn on if my son is in the car :)
But does great will make me shiver and regret turning it on.
.

99 221k. Decently cold but it has a mind of its own sometimes. It'll blow full blast outta nowhere.. I can tell it isn't as cold as maybe when new but it is sufficient in 100+ degree Texas days.

Mine blows cold as new, 200K miles.

But when I got the truck, it blew coldish warm, because it was severely overcharged. At proper charge, it'S A-1

Mine is cold, but nowhere near as cold as some other 3rd gens I have been in. I've tried re-charging it with the auto store stuff, and even taken it to the dealer to have them do it. No change.

I've never cleaned my condenser... I'd be willing to bet that's the underlying issue. My 4Runner has seen it's fair share of dirt, dust, mud, etc.

How do you know it's ice cold if you haven't turned it on once? :O

I live in a family full of A/C addicts, they love riding in my car lol, but nobody wants to be the first one to turn it on though, they get the face full of dust that's built up lol.

To Tell you the truth I never was much for using it either... seems like i'm using it more though these days..Always been a window type of guy... guess i get that from Dad.

When i'm riding with peeps i switch it on..
