How many 4Runners have you owned?

This is my first 4Runner. Growing up, my brother and I had a 93 Toyota pickup extra cab with the 22RE. It drove so much better than any domestic pickup at the time. The folks LOVED the fact that it had next to nothing for power, kept us out of at least some trouble until I introduced it to a telephone pole one icy night. Drove it home, though. That was one badass truck, and that is why I bought a Toyota when I got the chance.

First 4Runner, but love it and can't wait to replace it with another newer one when time comes for it.

On my 3rd 'runner -- '94. '97 and '05; all 4x4 SR5 V6's. Here's progress for ya -- The '05 is much bigger physically than the '94, has much better performance and gets much better gas mileage.

Not only is this my 1st - 4-Runner.......

It's my 1st - Toyota ....

It's My 1st Truck of any sort.

I have always had small honda coupes, but the 4Runner ROCKS....

Same story for us. Our previous cars are all hondas. '81 Civic hatchback, '89 Accord Lxi, and a 2002 civic Lx. The only we don't still have is the hatchback. Like the Honda's, we fully expect to have the 4Runner for another 20+ years.

1st 4runner ( 99 2.7 L 2wd). 1st car. 1st 10yrs( 2 breakdowns, 1- battery died 2- new starter)

Was looking to buy a new car, since i had this one so long and saved money was looking at Mercedes, BWM, Lexus suvs but then considered the current trend of-

1- Rising gas prices with talk of $4 a gallon. maybe wont happen but its a scary thought if analyists are contemplating it

2- Insurance companies are greedy beyond belief, and common practices include charging you for anything if ur not looking

3- Dealerships nowadays i feel like make business by keeping you in there, ask anyone riding european or american.

Those are just my 3 main reasons for not selling my car, I have decided to ride my 4runner for another 5 yrs +.

Now when I do decide to get a new car, on the luxury level down the road, It will be a landcruiser. To all those under peer pressure to ride in something fancy or for the label, trust me only gentleman and smartest of people ride Toyota.

I have owned 7 4Runners so far. My first one was a gray 86 SR5 that was loaded and in mint condition. (I miss that one a lot) After that I picked up my 87 SR5 that I kept for 12 years and just sold. That one was mint too!(and also missed) I also owned 2 85's one SR5 and one plane jane that I lifted and offroaded pretty hard. While I owned all of those 1st gens I bought an 86 and 87 that ran and drove but stripped them for parts to keep all the other ones going. And lastly my 04 V8 4x4 se with the TRD supercharger. This one's a keeper.

86 4x4 auto that was perfect before it died in a bad wreck.
88 4x4 manual that I bought for parts for the 86 before it died.
94 4x4 manual that we have now and love it !
So far thats all but I am sure that are going to be more in the future !

Just added another one.
90 4x4 auto for parts.

I love the roll down rear window! Almost as good as a Wrangler for open air with full structural rigidity and silence. Try rolling at 40 mph with all windows down, then put up the windows, leaving sunroof and back window open. 80% of the cooling, but only 20% of the noise! Sweet!

Plus, these things ('94 and '00) just don't seem to break down. (Oh, except CD players. These 2 factory units are the only 2 car stereos of any sort that ever died on me!)

I'm on my 1st 4Runner...hopefully not last.

I want to trade my current 2007 for a 2009...buying an SR5 was a mistake.

I don't like the relocation of the rear window switch on the 2009, but it's too minor for me to care, because I am not buying used.

daily driver for the last 22 yrs

still driving my 86 that I bought in feb. of 87 with 5k miles on it. I have 243k on it now with no major repairs. Its been my daily driver for 22years and I have no plans on selling it.

I have had two. The first was the '92 pictured below. Please ignore the silly wheels. The engine died on me at around 190k miles. I ended up selling it for next-to-nothing and apparently, someone in town has gotten it running again and drives it daily.:shrug:

The second and current one is an '05 but I have yet to get any pictures of it.
