This thread is music to my ears (eyes?), and just re-affirms my decision to buy my first T4R a couple of weeks ago. It has just under 84,000 miles and at the slow rate I put miles on a car (I work from home), it will take me two years to reach 100k.
Why yes, yes I do! I used to be a network / systems engineer, but turned to the dark side many years ago...I'm a 'technical sales consultant' (aka sales engineer) for a large telecom / IT services company.
Just hit 250K. Been very reliable but things are starting to cost me. In the last year, struts, bearing, exhaust system other little stuff. It's also qualitatively sounding a bit like there is structural fatique, which I am sure will results in additional costs down the road. Still runs like a champ and I still enjoy the vehicle very much. That said I got a real good deal on a Porsche Macan GTS so I ordered one. It has been a fantastic experience with the 4 Runner.
I'm at 187k on my '05 V6. It regularly gets between 1500-2000+ miles a month and we drive it all over with no hesitation on it's reliability. The key to them is maintenance and upkeep. You could cover up the odometer and not guess it's higher miles. I fully expect to get at least 300k out of it.
