No don't leave!!! I've learned much from reading your posts and you've spent a lot of time sharing your knowledge with the forum. I don't personally (well as much as a forum allows) know you, but I think T4R.org would lose something without you. Haven't kept up with the forum lately but hope it's not just this thread.
I've belonged/belong to a lot of forums and while some are friendlier than others, even the nicest ones will give the standard "use the search button!" responses on the common stuff. I try to limit my posts to useful or pertinent info and read as much as possible. And when inevitably someone ruffles your feathers, just remember, it's only the internet :bigok:
Oh and I've never used my free oil changes. Hit 28000 today. Not a single problem other than the mysterious brake pedal "clicking". I like doing it myself and knowing it's done right. Ironically though if I hit 30K miles before it warms up my truck may finally see the inside of a dealer shop.

Im a pool player and on the largest Billiard forum. Some people are idiots and just look for reasons to argue or just put others down. The Pros (who are the best information and most interesting to read) have all left because of being trolled. Most quit the net or went to facebook where they can block people just being nasty.

you can block people on T4R.org simply by adding them to your Ignore List.

Just my 2 cents. I never go to the dealer unless my trusted mechanic and freind tells me to. I have been going to the same mechanic for over 30+ years as my father did before me. He keeps all my records of maintenence on his computor for all my vehicles. I keep my vehicles for a min of 10 years barring any natural disasters. I buy all my vehicles new. I get the oil changed at 1,000 miles and then every 5,000 mile intervals. And rotate my tires at the same time. Just easier to keep track of.

They use the bottle to catch and drain the overflow coming off the old oil filter. The plastic bottle (now filled with used oil) happens to be resting on the alternator pulley and belts. Of course, this in turns burns it's way through the bottle, and voila! - Oil all over the engine compartment of my brand new ride. It's all over the alternator, belts, pulleys, suspension, pretty much everywhere in the bay. To hell with the free oil changes. Will be doing my own from now on."

Hey guys,
I'm having an engine shuddering issue but my 4Runner is a 2015 Trail Edition with just over 1000 miles. What's unique about this situation is the 4R has no factory warranty because it was involved in a flooded lower level garage with the water coming up to the middle of the doors. The insurance claimed it as a "total loss" with the truck only having 210 miles on it. I bought it knowing the situation because it ran/looked amazing and I got it for 12k less than a brand new one.
Low and behold, two weeks after buying, I noticed a shudder, but only under a light throttle, and only between 25-35mph, and only with the tranny in "D", it doesn't do it at all in any of the auto stick modes (4, 3, 2, or 1). I took it to my local Toyota dealership and they flushed the tranny after finding water in in it. The flush didn't fix it and they said I needed a new tranny which would cost roughly 10-11k. I decided to get a 2nd opinion because no way it needed a new tranny. The tranny shifts perfect under normal, moderate, and heavy throttle. The local tranny shop recommended another flush but also dropping the pan and replacing the filter, which we did. Once again it didn't fix the shudder and they didn't receive any codes with their tranny scanner. Their main guy said it has to be a engine misfire or vacuum related issue.
Now I'm about $1200 in tranny flushes and trouble shooting but still have the shudder. After searching online more, I've been reading about shudder issues possibly being caused from fuel/air/ mix and /or vacuum related and also possibly with the MAP and/or TPS. At this point, I want to take it back to Toyota and have one of their master techs try to figure it out but then again maybe it's something fairly cheap and simple that I could trouble shoot on my own? I've read about having the ECU flashed could possibly reboot it to factory settings and I don't know if the ECU was compromised with water or not? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
