How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

SR5 Quotes OTD

Hey all, Ive been lurking for awhile, getting some email correspondence from a couple dealers her in Western NC and SC. One (truecar dealer) came in on a sr5 with entune, "all weather mats", and the only option i really wanted was the 3rd row seating. they came in at $35,616.52. (finance at 2.9%) Seems like a good enough deal. Same vehicle but like 80 miles closer coming in at $37,114.46. (2.5%) Seems easy enough, but the numbers don't add up. the local (higher OTD) dealer has lower lease, and purchase options. with no money down. Never purchased a car, only leased, and this just seems odd. Even the lease options are lower at the local dealer with the higher price with no money down. Am I missing something here? THANKS GUYS!

4x4?

in the next day or two i am thinking about buying a 2016 limited that has most options added so msrp is $48k, dealer is going to $45k (plus ttl).

should i be able to do better or is this a good deal?

Definitely not bad in the least. Now it'll depend on your market area, but I think your goal should be $1,000 lower. You're getting one fully optioned which means there is way more wiggle room in the negotiation. $1,000 makes a big difference in monthly payments if you're financing; it's worth fighting for if it doesn't ruin your already decent deal.

Contact Sonic Automotive, in Charlotte. I drove 3hrs to get my 4R there. Their pricing is that much better than my surrounding counties. Their advertised prices are lower than negotiated "aggressive best offer I can do" from my local dealers.

They work on salary, and are willing to deal.

thanks for the response. i have discussed pricing with a few dealers around here, walked away from one at the negotiating table. all that to say i have done a fair bit of negotiating and this is the lowest price I have been able to get to. none of the dealers had the particular model i wanted on their lot so would have to do dealer transfer which i assume increases their costs/time a bit.

this dealer that offered $3k off msrp has also offered the highest price on my trade-in by about $1,000 (trade in offers received were $9500, $10k, $10k, $11k).

As nice as that would be.. I do not want a Limited. haha. I do like some of the LTD features such as auto climate and push start but it's not enough to make me give them a free pass on such a mistake. I'm hoping that it's just a typo or something else.

Not if they're gonna sell it to you for TEP pricing!!

When I added my Trail Premium to my AAA insurance I gave them my VIN. The guy on the phone says "Oh a Limited, nice!". I think they just classify Trail Premiums at the Limited price point for replacement value, at least that's what he thought.

Same thing happened to me with State Farm.

As far as I'm concerned, there's your $1,000 right there. It's all about the overall total, and if they're doing you good on the trade-in the +/- is still there.

good luck

I finally picked up my Limited on Saturday. MSRP is $46,844.00 and before TTL, I paid $43,639.26. This was with an agreed upon price of $650.00 under dealer invoice. I was happy with the deal and felt that it was fair. The dealer made a few bucks and I saved $3205 from MSRP. The best part was, that they ordered the 4Runner to the exact specs that I had requested and allowed me to sell my trade, through the dealer, to a private party. I was able to get maximum value for my trade and save another $2300 on taxes. My total OTD came out to $11,500.27.

I just picked up a '16 T4R SR5 premium for $46 otd. I also got the factory warranty extended to 8yr/100,000mi, toyota care plus for 6yr, and the tire and road hazard warranty included in that price. Good or bad?

Couldn't find a thread for how much people are paying for used 5th gens. Feel free to bash if this isn't the place.

Looking at a 2015 Certified TEP. Super White with 30k miles. Clean CarFax and one owner. Dealer is asking $34.9k. I'd like to get them down to around $32k. Do you think that's reasonable?

Good or bad depends on the MSRP of the car vs the price you paid, as well as the cost of the added warranties and maintenance packages.

The problem that I had, when searching for used 4Runners, is that they hold their value really well. For a few thousand more, you can get a new one.

Im asking good or bad compared to what others paid for the same truck.

I am just guessing that most people didn't pay for extended warranties, so very hard to compare without knowing how much those added to your cost.

I didnt pay to extend the warranty. I paid $1400 for the care plus and the tire and road hazard.
