How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

I should have mentioned, no trade in, paid in cash. I had pentagon federal ready to go with a 1.99% APR but decided against it

Hello, looking for some feedback. I'm being offered 2016 Trail for ~35000 + 6% tax = 37,000 OTD. I have a plate to transfer. Am I crazy for trying to go lower? I'm in Michigan, with financing in hand.

No, I would always try for lower.

if they have someone willing to pay more than you they would have already sold it to them.

They may say no, in which case you need to wait them out and potentially lose it or just suck it up and try again with another offer.

Hi everyone, just purchased my first Toyota 4Runner and wanted to post the purchase info since this forum and website were very helpful in making my decision.

Just purchased a 2016 Super White SR5 Premium with all weather mats, paid cash, no trade in, for $35,750 +TTL. They offered $35K if I financed, but I didn't want to deal with it.

See you out there!

$34k + TTL for a 2016 SR5 4x4 with clear coat, sliding rear deck, mats, premium etune/navi too much?

BrewTuna, with the options you got, it sounds about right from everything I've seen recently.

Is there any good trails in NC you've got scoped out? I'll be moving back in the next few years and will be looking forward to taking it out in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

$38,170 for a TEP. This is my first Toyota! It will get to port on 9/29... (top line number , add TTL, and $150 doc, but I got a really good number on my trade)!

It all comes down to bottom line. Should always negotiate separately. I negotiate the new car first until happy with sales price. Only then will I discuss trade-in value. It's only a good deal if both new and trade are good deal. Otherwise sale guy is able to muddy the two together. Standard game for car dealer. Of course they hate that and you have to willing to be in uncomfortable in the negotiation by you controlling instead of them.

Congrats, you will love your new rig!

Thanks for the reply. I worked at a Lexus dealership for 3 years in the accounting dept so I have a pretty good grasp on the process. The Trail premiums are a little harder to find in Texas.

I would have liked KDSS but the Gulf States Region doesn't order them with KDSS for some reason. There are only two private Toyota distributors left in the US and Gulf States is one of them. This looks like it results in higher costs to the dealers compared to non Gulf State dealers.

I looked at two dealerships, one tried to bend me over at the waist, the other was upfront and much easier to deal with. Everyone has to make a living.

One thing that comparing deal to deal doesn't always take into consideration is that the dealer will sometimes get incentives on volume, which can make them push a little harder to get the last few units to that particular sales level.

My big thing is to deal with people that I feel are trying to be reasonable and not bend me over.

It is much easier to travel for a deal if you don't have a trade. Case in point I bought my 14 Camaro for 28K (1ss) during a big GM Rebate sale out of Washington state and I am trading it in for 25k now (only 6k miles, but still 2 years old).

In Texas you only pay sales price on the price difference if you trade, so it can make a big difference depending on the price of trade (6.25%).

I did get excited about the Trail since they were able to get in white without all the extra Port installed options. ( no 600 steps). I feel good about the deal as a whole.

Thanks for the input.

^ I know I quoted your post. It was more of a general statement to anyone who doesn't or never thought of. You did well on your trade. Enjoy the new rig!

Bought a new 2016 TRD Pro last week for 42k even before taxes, etc, about 1.8 under msrp. Came with some options I didn't want, remote start, rack crossbars, floor mats, but beggars can't be choosers. Drove 250 miles to get it. Found another quicksand one that was closer but with even more options, at msrp, and a gray one at msrp+4K. No trade-in, also got just over 2% financing.

Got my payoff letter on my '16 SR5 today.

It's finally mine.

I'll never understand purchase incentives that require you to finance. It's such a pain in the ass for everyone. They have to setup everything to finance and I have a ding on my credit. All over a net $500~ savings to me.

After lurking around this forum for about 10 months, I just picked up my 2016 Blizzard Pearl Limited!

Pretty basic: Crossbars, mudguards, and mats.

$41,667 + TTL

That's why I paid cash for mine. I asked my salesman if I get a discount if I finance. He said nope. Expecting my title in the mail any day now.
