How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

I only deal online for both of my recent purchases, agreed on price, and then finalize it at the dealership. I got $6000 off MSRP for mine. It did however take 1.5 months of negotiations but I was in no rush and they knew it. Got the exact interior/exterior colors I wanted on a special order and had to wait 2 months.

If you're not in a rush, show your interest and let them call you.

Hmm....when I bought my Tacoma, I received the opposite response. When I acted like I'm not in an immediate hurry to buy they were not interested or gave poor discounts. When I tell them I'm in a hurry to buy they seem more interested in dealing.

Do not worry and do the best you can. Until I see a copy of the sticker and the bill of sale I wont believe anything. Too many variables otherwise.

I would like to know what steps people took to get that $5k off or did some dealer just give them that as the first offer.

Its the West Coast tax. I was having the same issue here in Oregon until I lucked out and found a used 2017. Just be diligent.

It seems like used 2017 here are just a little less if not, the same has new 2018 models. I would have to get like a 2014 with 50k miles to see a significant discount.

I paid 41K for my used ORP that only had 4100 miles BUT already had a Icon Stage 3 and a complete sound system swap out.

IMO, I have a TRD Pro with a sunroof.

Ok so I got some more quotes.

1) One dealer is offering only $1000 off MSRP through email and wants me to go into negotiate a better deal. I think I shouldn't waste anymore time with this dealer's antics.

2) Another dealer has a new 2017 model year SR5 Premium. They are taking almost $4000 off MSRP. It's new but still 1 model year old, shouldn't the discount be bigger?

It is hard to say about the discount, as you don't state what the MSRP of the vehicle is or what the $4,000 off equates to. You also don't indicate what sort of options are on the vehicle, so your question only raises more questions.

I bought my former FJ Cruiser as a year old model and only got about $3,000 off of the MSRP, but in whole dollars it was the cheapest FJ Cruiser I found and I only saw one year old model that was listed cheaper (about $500 less than what I paid), about 3 or 4 months after I bought mine. So I knew I got a good deal.

I puzzled how some people can get $5k off MSRP. I'm struggling and the best i can get is $2400 off MSRP.

From reading this thread and purchasing my 18' OR, it's all about location. It seems like the SE regions are getting good deals. I got $6920 off MSRP. I was planning on purchasing in late summer or fall, but fell into a great dealership and a good internet salesman/deal. I just did everything via internet sales/emails/texts. (Mind you, I haven't purchased a car since 2002, so this internet sales thing was new to me) Everything was done in half a day and I went the next day to sign paperwork. I think I got lucky but also dealing with a dealership who relies on high volume so I didn't have to really try hard to get the deal done. This thread definitely helped me to decide if I was getting a good deal or not, etc.

edit-i just used cargurus just to see 300 miles from me, narrowed it down to what color(s) i wanted, model etc. narrowed down dealerships etc...then i just email blasted all of them to narrow it down to less than 5 dealerships. i think someone on here posted a template email you could send to dealerships...i used something similar to that.

SR5's are the lower end model now and are the most popular on the dealer lots, especially around here, so they would be easier to negotiate down.

Az

Hey AZ folks who have you guys been dealing with to get the awesome deals so far no one can give me the OTD prices you guys are getting. How in the world are you guys haggling them down below MSRP??!!! lol

Ok here is the best deal that I have negotiated so far.

2018 SR5 Premium 4WD
-3rd row seats
-Moonroof
-Running boards
-Wilderness package (AW floor mats + roof rack cross bars)

$41274 MSRP
-$4174 off MSRP
$37100 before taxes + fees

Should I take this deal or can I do better?

I Paid MSRP, but I was extremely upside down on my trade and they made it work by doing MSRP..

'18 TRD Off Road Premium

2018 MGM ORP without KDSS and no sunroof, ODO read 1 mile. $36500, after TTL $40500.

I have an AWESOME, no BS salesman in Phoenix, AZ if anyone needs a referral.

I just bought a 2018 TRD OR with KDSS, everything else is basic (cloth seats, no cargo pull out, moonroof or anything) and paid $39,500 OTD in Phoenix AZ. I had one dealer that laughed me off for any offer less than $40k, and another that wouldnt go lower than $39,750 OTD for the same model.

Also, I have been tracking the used market extensively for the last 3 months, and I talked to someone who sold a used 2016 Trail with ~15k miles for $38,000. So i figured a new one for $1,500 more than that was better deal than going with the used market.

Nobody cares.

Its a TRD OR. that tells us it has cloth and no cargo pull out or a moon roof. you NOOB.:ak472::ak472::ak472:

Fun party tonight bro. thanks for the beer. oh wait i brought that:cheers::cheers:

2018 Limited (no 3rd row, no pull out tray), White w/ Redwood interior, Certified used w/ 3500 miles = 40550.00

I asked my salesperson and called a few days later (talked to a different salesperson) - it was used because it was driven by the Sales Mgr for a while. It was marked down because it had been on the lot for 66 days when I got to it. :clap2:

I got them to throw in free wheel locks which isn't much. I think this is the best I can do. I tried to get a free cargo cover but it was a no go. Not quite $5000 off MSRP but I guess good enough for California.

Daria,

I would love the name of your sales guy. I am in Tucson looking as I speak. I’m looking for a TRD Off Road Premium with moonroof and KDSS in Barcelona Red.

Thanks,

Todd

Guys, new to the forum and new 4Runner owner.
I purchased a TRD Off-Road yesterday, this is with KDSS, in Magnetic Gray.
OTD was 40519, I'm hoping this is not a bad OTD amount, you be the judge.

I like it, of course, but this big purchases give me some buyers remorse every time. They are expensive !
