How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

Picked up a SR5 Premium 4WD after a few weeks wait for MSRP + dealer added window tint, wheel locks and useless 'appearance package' (aka world's most expensive tube of wax) at Toyota of Cedar Park in Texas. This was the best deal I could find around the Central Texas area. Most other dealers were marking up 3-5k and weren't even trying to pretend it was for anything valuable (Toyota of North Austin was adding $3500 for '24 month maintenance and 3 year warranty, which is obviously included in the MSRP).

Horrible time to buy a car, but we were in a situation where we needed one.

No discounts below MSRP, ridiculous "Dealer Adjustment" extortion fees, almost impossible to add options over configurations that come in on Dealer Allocation vehicles, etc., etc., etc....yeah, it's a baaaaaad time to buy, but we had to as well. The GOOD part is we got a great vehicle with all the latest bells and whistles, instead of settling for an older, used model without them. It's the last of it's breed!

I looked at used and it was worse than new. Prices at or above new. The same stupid add-on games were being played there - $999 for 'nitrogen filled tires', $695 for window tint on a vehicle that wasn't tinted, cleaning fees, inspection fees, etc.

The lack of supply has tilted the power heavily to the dealer, and they know if you don't buy it - someone else will. I just hate the lies and being treated like I'm an idiot. At least the dealer I bought from was upfront about everything, and there was some value in the add-ons.

Everyone said it was crazy to even look at any late model Used because of the insane pricing. I didn't believe them as used has always followed the "rules" of depreciation, until now. That's why we now have a 2022 instead of a 2019. And no worries about vehicle history, rust, or weird smells, or the usual things about a second hand car.
Our dealer was great, no games, straight forward, no insane "dealer Adjustment" $3,000-$10,000 gouge over MSRP. Couldn't be happier!

How is that even legal? Just call it a Market Adjustment like every other dealer and stop being a shady piece of s***.

I really hope this market puts car dealers out of business and online sellers like carvana step up. I think everyone is done with the dealer BS, if they weren't already.

for $695 you can get EVERY window tinted with nano carbon ceramic tint. such a ripoff but there is no one to blame except the people buying them. if no one bought them they could not charge that kind of money

After 3 month wait my sales guy at Toyota of north Austin was able to trade one of his allocations for the 4runner offroad in magnetic grey I was waiting for. I paid MSRP. Was able to remove 3 distributor added options worth $1500. At last minute they added 500$ to the negotiated deal because Toyota raised the MSRP price.
Despite having them remove the tint, paint, and misc fluff option from the truck they did it anyway. So I got that option for free.

Contact Shannon Brady at Toyota of north Austin if you want to work with a reasonable car salesman in this area. He is the internet sales manager and has been there for decades.

Aside from the long wait, I was satisfied with how the whole deal went.

I have an SR5 Premium with 3rd row coming into port next week. I’m interested if my price is jumping up $500 too due to MSRPs going up, even though I agreed on a price from the spec sheet the dealer sent a month ago.

However it might not matter, kind of liking the new Sequoia videos I’ve been seeing the last few days. Really interested in seeing the pricing that is supposed to come out soon.

Has anyone got there new vehicle shipped from another state if so are there any suggestions on what shipping company to use

Personally I saved probably a grand doing it myself. I got pretty lucky, though. The dealers I spoke to were telling me shipping is really tough right now for whatever reason. They didn’t have a resource for it and also they didn’t recommend it.

Yea it's things like diesel prices (that's obvious lol) but then a lot of truckers are also losing their jobs or being severely cut back because of all the supply chain issues. Boats not getting unloaded/loaded fast enough so that means trains & trucks have nothing to haul.

A little late to the game, but just joined up here. Took delivery in December of a 2022 Pro at MSRP without dealer add ons, but placed my order in April of '21 for a 2021 model year. Miami dealers are vipers and tried to sell the vehicle out from under me, even though I had a contract with down payment. Someone was offering 5k over. First time I have EVER paid MSRP, but it's been six months now and I'm still smiling!

22 OFP lunar rock paid 47,097 msrp, plus ~+random dealer add ons, tint, came to around 48k.

That's about what I'm paying for mine, but with no moon roof or KDSS. Not that I had much choice...out of the 6 dealers in the Denver/ Springs area, not one had a 4Runner in stock other than a single SR5. Luckily, one dealer has a silver 22 ORP sitting on the ship in Long Beach, so that's the one I bought. Fortunately, I am happy with silver, since I had absolutely no choice as to the color.

Just a quick search of a couple dealers in our area...none had the -$750 Keep it Wild Savings rebate...did Toyota eliminate this one?

I’m leaning towards going to get it myself but after a flight hotel and fuel the savings would only be around $250 for a 14 hour drive

I hear you!

I completely lucked out. Last minute one way flight six days ahead of time from Green Bay WI to N Platte NE was $150+ $150 =$300. So that was what made it work.

So I'll be coming back to a 4Runner soon. I put a deposit down on a Trail edition in Lunar Rock with TRD exhaust and console safe at a local dealership. It's currently on a ship coming from Japan...not arrived to the States yet.
