Paid 7K for my 99 SR5 in march of 2008. 127K miles. Other than some rust on the back bumper, which I blacked out, Its been great. Looking at a 2000 or 2002 for the wife so I can get my 99 back. :banana:

I paid 5,400 for mine 180,000 miles 5speed with elocker. Runs strong and mechanically sound. Getting 21.5 MPG around town driving her easy which makes me really happy.

We paid around 10K for my Wife's 97 back around 2003. It had 110K miles on it then. She is now around 160K miles. Great truck!

yeah you are right 3er gen is the nicest and looks better than 4th and 2nd gen, when I look some 4r in the city they catch my eye, so Im happy now cause after 5years thinking on it I just bought one 3 weeks ago!! no regrets I hope

Well, I just got my first 4Runner today! We've had nothing but Toyota's since 1983!

It's a 98 SR5 with 175K on it.

I got it for $0!!! Sort of. I bought a 2001 F250 from my company when I got laid off for $1000 with the sole intent of turning it.

Saturday I went to my local Toyota dealership, we've bought 4 other Toyota's from them and took the F250. Being laid off, I don't have any cash to put into it so I asked them if they would trade straight across....The 4Runner for the F250.

After a little discussion, they did it!

They detailed it, changed the oil and I picked it up this afternoon.

I love it!

I'll probably keep it fairly stock, maybe a small lift, and bigger tires at some point, maybe a grill guard, but that would be about it. I probably won't take it deep off road.

I've got my Land Cruiser for that!

Recently bought a 2000 sr5 for $5300 with 152k on the motor. Took it to my mechanic, who works at toyota, and got the checks done and it was a keeper. Thing runs soooooo good man. And its just gettin broken in!!! It's in pretty good shape too. Really wanted to hold out for a 4x4 but needed a ride fast and this is what i came up with. I'll do some mods and if i find a 4x4 soon I'll just switch em over. So far just blacked out the badges and I'm doing up the wheels soon. Then spacers and tires. All looks on this one, not gonna go all out till I get the 4x4.

Bought an immaculate 97 sr5 last weekWith 110k on the odo from the original owner last week for $5k. Truck is insanely clean and all maintenance and work is fully documented. It belonged to a fire cheif, all he did was clean it every other day while at the station. I love this friggin truck and have always wanted one. My mom also always wanted one so were really happy with it.
