How much did you pay for your 5th gen?

Ok guys I already have an 06 corolla and a 99 Tacoma TRD 4X4 and going to replace my wife's 05 jeep Cherokee with a new 4runner and become a Toyota family!

My mom has a 96 limited 4X4 runner with 280K miles and no issues/major repairs so far!

Any way how much did y'all pay for the 5th gen you drive?

The best deal and the one I'm going with on July 4th weekend unless I find a better one before them is

2013 grey SR5 4X4 with 3 row seat and black leather for $35,500 plus TT&L

My cousin is a salesman and he says that's the best I will find and a "family" price

He is adding the leather and selling it to me at 35,500
It looks like a good deal per msrp but doesn't everyone pay less than MSRP?

I usually figure 10% off list is a pretty reasonable discount for a new 4R, but it varies from dealer-to-dealer. No clue as to the value of the leather.

IMO, the best value is in how the dealer treats you post-purchase, and if the svc dept knows WTF they're doing.

Bottom line is that we can't tell you what's right for you.

From the sound of it that's the exact runner we got. The SR5 with the premium package. We paid a few bucks over 36k plus ttl. The sticker on ours was just a tick under 40K. Ours was an "internet special". Saw it online and drove 2hrs to get it.

Tough to imagine an MSRP that high without leather. Configure your vehicle on truecar and you will see what others have paid regionally and nationally.

Truecar says a good price on a black, 4x4 sr5 with 3rd row seat and premium pckg is anything under $38,600. Lists MSRP as $40k-ish. That's for Houston; closest zip code to Freeport in my brain.

I bought my TE brand new for < $36.5k; dealer's sticker was $42k. That was back in 2010 at Sterling McCall in Houston.

I use the rule of thumb 14% off MSRP. I paid $33.5 for my sr5 w/leather and 3rd row

I will make some more calls, because the $38K MSRP with out leather seems high to me also.

The truck will not have the premium package.
Many of the dealerships here will call in a high end shop and add leather to vehicles. For folks that want leather but dont want to pay for the premium package and all the other add ons it comes with.

This is the case with my current deal. Base 4x4 SR5 but with leather added at the dealership not the factory.

my 2013 4x4 with third row SR5 was sticker 39,500 dealer added a bunch of over priced extra junk, tinted windows and so on. we paid 35,700 plus 100k warranty, TT+L, and some other back officce something. out out the door price was $41,260 and i did not get leather.

I bought my 2013 SR5 with 4X4 and Premium Package (leather, heated seats, heated mirrors, back-up camera, 2 110V AC outlets, nav, moon roof etc)(configure at Toyota.com to see what is available) less than 2 weeks ago. MSRP on vehicle was $39,195 I paid $35,505. I also got the extended warranty (75K bumper to bumper) thrown in as well. I didn't mess around locally because they are jerks. I drove 35 miles and before I went there asked them and several other dealers in the Chicago burbs for their "best price". I knew what my vehicle was worth and what my minimum would be for it. They met that. When the salesman asked what I wanted for my vehicle I replied $50,000. Meaning make me a fair offer and we will negotiate. When they tried the "what do you want for your payments" I replied $0. Don't play their games. I walked in at 2PM and was driving home at 3:30.

Good luck. If you want a T4R a certain way, I was told they can get it made and shipped to you in 6 weeks from order. I was originally considering leather with no nav or moon roof, but wife decided she wanted the nav, leather and heated seats.

I paid 7% under sticker - all finance and dealings are in my build thread. Might help you out in negotiations.

Mine was not the best "deal", but fair to me. Paid off in 18 months.

I know, but the limited 4x4 i wanted did not have 3rd row and it was only 6k more AND it was WHITE the color i wanted. I still owe 25k on it and i regret not getting exactly what I wanted.

word to the OP....the price you posted sounds pretty darn fair, and if it has EVERYTHING you want on it...pull the trigger.

What does the sticker say? Dealers don't adjust MSRP. If the sticker says $38k then that's what Toyota priced it at.

If you can get a $38k MSRP vehicle for $35k, that's a pretty good deal. Free leather makes it even better. Go for it.

We bought a 2011 limited fully loaded leather nav and warranty to 100k
Had 6500 miles on it and we paid $34k. Also had XD 20" monster rims with 275/65 toyo mts.
