How much do you think I could get for my 4Runner?

I love this 1997 4Runner. It's a manual transmission with 250,000 miles and fun to drive. I bought it in 1998 and gave to my son when he went to college. He graduated and this is how I got it back.
How much do you think I could get for my 4Runner? The body shop said it would cost $2000 to fix it, but I'm thinking about just selling it.

Update: I sold it for $1200 cash less than 24 hours from listing it on FB marketplace.
I did not have the space or time to part it out. I'm gonna miss my 2WD, 4Cyl, 4Runner, but still have my 5th Gen Ltd. Thanks everyone for advice.

$2000 seems like a good price to fix. Looks like core support, hood fender, grill, bumper. Hard to tell what the rest looks like or inside. As is - depending on condition of everything else (like frame status) I would say $1000 to $1200ish if you are trying to sell whole thing.
 
2000 is a damn good price to fix it. the way it looks mileage, maintenance records if any. you'll probably be better parting it out then selling it
 
Part it out, be worth more that way... VERY FEW people will want a vehicle with a rebuilt title if that’s what it will end up having.

In the years I have been reading here, this is the first 4cyl., 5spd, 2wd I have heard of. Pretty rare. Would be even more rare if it wasn't wrecked.

This is the truck I was looking for and couldn't find when I bought mine. If it wasn't for the mileage and the fact that you are across the border I would be interested. We use ours primarily for long distance touring and the fuel economy matters more to me than off road capability, but I'm pretty happy with the 4x4 I have.
 
It's too worthless to sell honestly. Like $500. Better off fixing it and keeping your son far away from it if you love it.

Sure, it's rare -- but a 6cyl, 5spd, 4wd is even more rare and better :P

OP -- consider shopping around for the estimate, would you consider a cheapo-Craigslist body guy? You might get lucky, or he might be a crook that puts out cigs in your seats.

There's almost always at least 2 for sale in the Los Angeles area. It is probably fairly regional - lots more 4WD's sold in locations where 4WD is more useful on-road.

Keep it. Show a picture to your son of what it used to look like. Tell him he's gonna make it look like that again. That little lesson will be worth way more then what you might sell it for.
