How much for a head gasket job? any one know?

Just driving in my '99. no hard work on the motor. Then I stop at a light and notice it is idling rough, very rough. I pulled over cause its close to stalling and notice steam from radiator fluid at the exhaust. Let it cool down, about an hour on a cold winter day. It hesitates to restart but gets it done. The motor runs smooth at the start but as it warms up, the coolant mixes in the cylinder then runs really rough. Anyone have an idea? Thanks. I never thought it would die.

Just did this to my truck last week.

There was a warranty issue on some of the early t4r's you may want to check with the local dealer.

The job is rated at 9 hrs. And the head gasket is $150 BUT you will need new manifold gaskets, exhaust gaskets and cam seals.

Depending on milage on your truck, this would be a good time to do the t-belt/pulleys and water pump.
