How much is my tow hitch worth?

I took my tow hitch off today. (I will never use it). How much you guys think I could get for it?

Ive seen em from around 60-100 with most being in the 75 range. This was about 3 months ago when i was looking for one for my 02

it's cheap protection the way I see it

Even if you are not going to tow with it I would discourage you from leaving it off.

If you offroad at all the hitch is good protection for the underside of the bumper/back end area.

Someone may want the wiring piece for a few bucks-I think you could get maybe $50 for the hitch itself.

If you ever sell your truck it's just one more thing the new buyer might want to haggle over...

All the same- that's a fine looking ride in your avatar shot.

The hitch is a double sided sword...If it has it the new owner will think the truck was a tow vehicle, but if it doesn't have one then the vehicle could be worth less.

Mine isn't on my truck but I'm keeping it since you never know if you might need to tow something and if I ever sell my truck the tow package can be a desired option.

I agree with BuMp N rUn...AND...I would also keep my Tow Hitch in storage for any future events or situations.

Not to get off topic but I have a Reese tow hitch on mine and I have been hit at low speed twice in the rear. Both times my hitch prevented any damage to my vehicle. One car (honda accord) had major damage to the hood and it didnt even crack my little factory reese hitch cover. It sticks out just enough so that small cars will hit it and not the bumper.

X3 lol it's happened to me lots of times and come out with no damage. great rear protection.

I think the factory hitch is bad for offroading because the receiver sits below the main span, reducing it's ground clearance and the departure angle. The Reese hitch would be my preference because the receiver is up much higher and is less likely to get hung up on things.
