How much should I offer?

Found this on ebay:
Toyota : 4Runner SR5 Toyota : 4Runner SR5 | eBay
Pretty steep, but looks clean...Carfax looks good. Tow hitch looks aftermarket, it has the front skid which I don't think was offered on the '01, and it has a weird 3rd row seat hook up. KBB says $8K private party, $9,800 dealer. Too much?

i NEED THAT REAR SEAT HOOK UP!! that is awesome, well prices are higher in canada but it seems where you are these arent impossible to come across for 8k, so ill say around there - unless there is certain things you LOVE about this particular one.. it looks nice tho!
 
I'd offer $9k.

I bugs the crap out of me when dealer's falsely advertise vehicle options...such as "rare factory diff locker!" or better yet, "Rare TRD Factory Locker".

Seriously? Every single stinkin' 4wd 4Runner from '99-02 has a locking center differential. That's like a million vehicles. lol And there is nothing TRD about it.


Just bugs me...and makes me even more likely to lowball them, since they're trying to put a spin on the marketing in the first place.

Yeah, that's what first attracted me to the Ad cuz I thought it was rear locker. Then I remembered that option ended in '00.

Exactly. And if you weren't even halfway knowledgeable about 4Runners, you'd have kept thinking the truck had something special. Pisses me off when they do crap like that.
 
Got enough rear sag? Holy sh*t. That almost looks like it was lifted and the owner swapped springs in the rear before trading it in. Much easier to swap rear springs than fronts.

No, it's not. There is a company selling them, they match well though. My '99 had one when I bought it, I had the PO take it out to reduce the price.
 
I think the only used car dealer I would ever think of buying a used car from would be Carmax.
All the rest seem to be thieves.
I prefer buying from a private party.

Oh and do NOT go solely by the "Carfax" it is virtually meaningless on many cars.
It will show some things and not show others and will even show stuff that never happened.
Always get a good trusted mechanic to check it.

and that 4 runner seems to be about $3000 over priced to me

Mine doesn't... All the 99-00 limiteds had them, but not the SR5's.

That is misleading advertising though since there is in fact a diff lock that isn't what they are referring to.
 
Definitely looks clean, but the price is pretty high. Guess it just comes down to how much is it worth to you.
 
Just like Nunurbiz said, $3k over priced. Don't be the sucker that getz sucked on.
Just keep looking like a hawk on classifieds and CL.

Haha, yes you're totally right and I knew that (shoot my '99 didn't have one either). I just typed it too quick. I should have said every single 2001-2002, and all 99-2000 Limiteds.



Ripcord, that's funny that you emailed them....cause I did too. They're probably like, wtf is going on with people and 4runner diff lockers!?
