How rare are factory heated seats? And who has them?

What a deal! My other vehicle which has them standard, literally I can feel the heat on my butt in 30 sec - 1min. Are these fast like that?

I think the ones that came stock on the 01-02 4Runners take much much longer.

Mine already had quite a few years on them when I got the 'runner and they definitely don't heat up that fast. Not sure how fast new units would be.

Your thinking is wrong. I feel the heat in my 01's seat heaters before I've traveled less than a block (and it's a short block, it's called Slow Poke Dr!), that's fast enough for me and not bad for being 17 years old! :cowboy:

So you added heated seats to cloth seats? How'd that work out? Can you provide some info on that. I have cloth seats and would love to have heated seats.

Ya. I used the elements from the REAR seats of an old Infiniti QX4, and took the switches out. Installing them was completely normal save for trying to track down the correct wiring diagram to get them working. But they worked amazingly well. I installed them roughly 6 years ago and sold the truck almost 4 years ago, so I don’t have any pics laying around anymore.

Why the Infiniti QX4 particularly?

Because I was an Infiniti tech at the time and the truck was going to the junkyard.

I’m going to super necrobump this to say that I just redid my seat cushions and found that my 99 had the elements and wiring, just no switches.
