How-To: 99+ Center Dash Conversion with Wiring

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but in case anyone stumbles onto it in search of defogger wiring solutions (like I did), I wanted to point folks to a wiring thread that I put together on this swap.

Bottom line is that [MENTION=137201]Racety1[/MENTION] was correct that only three wires are needed for the rear defogger soldering, so whatever happened to his wiring to make him question it was a fluke. The three wires are spot on (even though I chose to solder to a different terminal on the circuit board, electrically it's the same as his):

Bringin Back an Old Thread, Sorry folks!

but i had to add how great this was to post. I am checking out everyone's info on here and its going to complete my setup. I did the whole console and dash, vents etc. the last thing will be of course soldering for the Defrost switch. just need to practice my Soldering skills. lol.

Thanks to everyone including the OP, who made this happen and for figuring out the wiring leads! And thanks 4Runner4Leon for adding your setup on how to with the defrost button.

I am doing this on my 96! a few wires are differ color but its usually 1 to the set thats differ. its pretty obvious which one matches to which new wire you have in the instructions.
