How to disable DRL's for an '01

look at your battery. to the right of it tucked in the fender is an electrical connection. un plug that. wala no more DRLs.

iirc, its a little gray box about 2" x 2" with a metal black shield around it. the plus should be gray. yes all you do is unplug that.

Well first I took out the fuse for the DRL's, and I ended up with no lights. So is that what you're talking about?

No, not yet. I'm still in class. I have a meeting, then I'm going home to change my rear diff fluid and disable the DRL's. Did you ever find out which cable it is?

Don't you just snip the black wire with a yellow stripe? That's what I read and did. Works fine. Don't get it confused with the yellow wire with a black stripe.
It's located under your steering column just above the gas pedal, connected to a black box, just pull out the white plug and snip the wire, put electrical tape on either end and voila! I know this works on 2001's, so if you don't have an '01, do a little more research, but I'm sure it would work with most years

Alright guys finally got a second to take a picture of the DRL disable mod.
In the drivers footwell right above the gas pedal is the DRL control box. To cut off DRL all you have to do is cut the SOLID BLACK / YELLOW STRIPE wire and that is it. You can wire a on/off switch if you want but it is not needed as this is a disable. (I put the terminal ends on so there is not exposed wire.)

Well, I didn't get to do this today, so hopefully I will be able to tomorrow. I'm also about to post another thread about my rear diff. I ran into some difficulties today.

let me go take a picture of mine i disconnected (not cut) under the hood. brb....
so on my 2000 limited directly next to the battery on the fender side there is this box with a black metal cage around it, attached to this box is a gray plug with a few wires coming out of them. i disconnected the plug (2 years ago) and its still working (or not working i should say) great.
