How to swap 97 overhead map light w a 99 one?

Strangely enough I pulled a 99 console from a junkyard with the 96-98 switches and it looks like a factory installed piece of clear plastic. Either someone did such an amazing job with the install or someone found/made a piece of plastic. I'll see if I can unload a photo.
