How to tell if you have heater mirrors?

Hey guys,

Still searching for my 4runner.

I do have 1 question though.

I am currently looking at a few SR5 model's.

The one I am interested in a 2003 V8 SR5 with sunroof and foglights.

The one thing I cant tell is how to know if they have heated mirrors. I asked the owner and of course he was clueless.

Being in Canada heated mirrors are very handy.

Looking at the side mirrors there was no symbol for them being heated like on my Civic.

Also, on my Civic their was a sidemirror picture on my defroster button for rear defrost.

The 4runner only has a rear window drawing on the defrost button.

How can I be sure this truck has heated mirrors.

If your side mirrors are black, then you don't have it. :lol: :jk:
Press the rear defrost button and check if your mirrors will defrost too. I have the Limited so it came with it. I don't know 'bout the other models tho.

Side mirrors are colour keyed.

Are 4runners like newer tacoma's?

New Tacoma's have the side mirror defrosted button on the left of the steering wheel.

Not sure about the 4Runners as I have an SR5 with non-heated mirrors, but the GX470 has a separate button for mirrors.

It won't be making or breaking the sale just nice to know.

I was also wondering if it wasn't an option here in Canada. If it was standard just like 4x4.

For those out of the loop all Canadian sold 4runners are 4wd, no 2wd only option.

That's cause up here you need 4x4 even if your not going off road. :lookout:
Well in 90% of the land mass anyways.

Turn on the rear defroster. The mirrors will be warm if they are heated.
