Howdy! Just bought an '02 Sport and have a few questions

Finished up the sway bar bushings and end links today. While they OE ones were obviously trash, replacing them didn't fix a problem - there's a light clunking that's more felt than heard either when coming to a complete stop or when letting go of the brakes after stopping (but not both). It's obviously some sort of weight transfer issue. I was thinking it would be the sway bar bushings, but that didn't fix it.
Any ideas? I'm stuck on thinking it's a transmission mount, but I gave it a quick look and it looks fine.
I am also accelerating my plans for new shocks and probably springs - I had four people aboard on the way to lunch today and the worn OE suspension became obvious over bad pavement.

Have you lubed the driveshaft at all ? It's pretty common for them to make a dull thud in situations tht you described. There are 6 or 8 zerk fittings under there that you can shoot some grease in to. There's also a write floating around somewhere.
Now with 1.25" of lift courtesy of a set of 1999 4Runner springs. It sits evenly all around about 1.25" higher than it did before the springs. The photos make it look like it's a bit high in the front, but it is even. I was surprised to get more than 1" out of the 99 springs.
Put in KYB Gas-a-Just shocks, too. It rides really nicely, essentially what I recall OEM to ride like (I had a new 2000). Also did KYB front strut mounts.
The driveline clunk is now gone after greasing the driveshaft. Doubt it had ever been done!
Also now hard at work trying to disconnect the aftermarket remote start. It works, but I don't trust it. I'm always a little afraid the alarm is going to go off one night while I'm sleeping.
Finally, I acquired an auto dim rearview mirror with a compass and temp gauge. It's a GM part. I wired it to the moonroof switch. Still need to wire in the temp sensor - I didn't have enough wire to finish it. I wasn't as concerned about having the auto dim function since the tinted windows essentially negate it, but I really missed having a compass and exterior temperature display. I thought about one with Homelink since the built-in garage door opener is pretty mediocre, but I couldn't find a decently priced one.
Anyway, couple of lousy photos. I think I'll finally get the 4Runner a little dirty this weekend.

I'm not usually one for bling, but I couldn't pass this up... part # 75453-60012. It's used on FJ Cruisers and runs about $30 from Toyota.
I debated scrapping the Toyota badge, but I think the two look fine together.
And a photo of my first off roading trip in this 4Runner... Bridgeport OHV park with members [MENTION=32862]jdmaccord6[/MENTION] and [MENTION=64290]BigRogers[/MENTION], as well as a bunch of FJ Cruisers!
She handled it very well. It was a light trip, which was just what I bought this 4Runner to do. I wish it sat about 3/4" higher, but I'm very satisfied otherwise. Mud also sucks... lots of rain in the week leading up to that trip, but I avoided most of it.
