Hub Centric Wheels --Level 8 MK6

Hi All,

I have been absent from here for a while. I got sidetracked by various injuries then money and time going into this great big hole in the backyard that holds water and needs to be fed with more time and $. Now I am back on track with the T4R.

Anyway, got 2 years under the belt on the 4Runner and almost 40k miles so thinking about some new rubber and wheels. Started researching some threads on here and came across the level 8 mk6. Good looking wheel but not a fan of the 8 on the center cap. Nothing a vinyl decal won't fix. Was curious what the hub bore measured on these as I wanted hub centric vs lug centric. Thought I was going to be looking elsewhere for a wheel but to my surprise here is the reply I received from Level 8.

"Thanks for reaching out to us regarding the MK6. We are gaining lots of popularity among the Toyota crowd due to our focus on making direct, bolt on wheels for the Toyota market. The MK6 is 100% "hub-centric" for your 4Runner. The back-side center-bore of the wheel is 106.1mm and your hub size is 106mm. It will fit just like the OE (original factory Toyota wheel) does with regards to the center-bore. No need at all for hub rings!"

Now, to find that thread on what size vinyl decal to get to cover the 8.

I've got these wheels on my 2012. The wheel does indeed fit the hub like a glove. It can be a little bit of a pain in the ass to get it back on by yourself. LOL! That being said, I left the center caps completely off and just primed and painted the rear hub centers flat black.

[MENTION=57349]93toy[/MENTION] Sweet. Those wheels look great on your rig. Where did you get the Decals? Are those vinyl and are the holding up well? I also have a MGM 4R but mine is the ltd. I keep going back and forth on the gunmetal and matte black and I think I just decided on the gunmetal finish. trying to figure out which ones to go with. 17x8 or 17x9...

If I go with 17x9 and zero offset I am looking at 5" backspacing. That seems high to me. I think most are running 4.5" BS. So that would put me back at the -12 offset which may pushout a little more I think. Was looking through the pics in another thread and I guess 12mm just doesn't make that much difference as it is hard to tell from the pics.

I'd go with 17x9 -12mm if I were you. Wider wheel and it sticks out further for a better stance. I've been eyeing these wheels myself. I'll probably pick up a set within the next month.

Shogun- I had them made at a local sign shop. They gave me a few pricing options (quality/durability of the decal) and I chose the best one they offered. They've been on since around March and they still look like new.
