I do not mind signatures such as SnowRunner's signature, which has pictures but they are small and not a distraction.

Well mine is gone for now. Got some complaints so im working on making a smaller one. Sorry, I didn't realize it was that big. lol.

dont put any pictures in your signature, its against the rules and is just plain annoying when you are reading thru threads. we appreciate that you are actually willing to change, instead of assuming the board should just deal with it.

not to be a douche... but its not in the rules that you cant have pics in your sig. It says that they cant exceed 100 pixels. So pretty much the size of the avatar. I'm making a sig that i think will be an appropriate size compared to the rest of the sigs. It will be taller than 100 pixels but not irritatingly large.

I've gotten far more PM's saying how cool my sig is than people saying that it is too large...

Are both these too large?

im so done with this site... why do you need to have two pictures of your truck every time you post? is it that awesome? i highly doubt its something i havent seen before and even if it is im much more interested in how its built that what it looks like...

but to each their own, but if i may make a suggestion, make your desktop background a picture of your truck, there not only can it take up the whole screen but you can see it all day long, and better yet, we dont have to see it when we dont care... just a suggestion

im not trying to be a douche, but people like you are what causes this site to go down over and over almost every day, and why it takes so long to load a simple thread, use ur avatar, then make a garage thread and link to that in your sig... everyone is happy

Thank you. I've never had any problems with people on this board and im not trying to start any. But the 2nd picture i posted is only 116 pixels high which is only 16 pixels over the limit in the rules so i'll be keeping that as my sig for now.

And im not starting my own web page cause i dont have money to host one. (I'm in college)

I am sure an empty threat of leaving the site will shock the community into immediately removing their signatures. give me a break... If you want to make changes, make waves. Why not a silent protest by posting 6 or 7 pics on your signature with a message. It would even be funny...for a little. See how many shots of that cool dog of yours you can put in one sig! ha!

Snow, your signature is awesome, and if someone is having trouble loading pages, I guess they should ditch the 56K modem, or just stick with sending their AOL instant messages.

I agree that some are a little carried away, and this thread is a good one for "making a suggestion" to the management staff about the issue, but I don't think singling people out one at a time will get much done. For the record, after reading this thread I shortened my list in my sig.

Snowrunner, the first proposal is too big, yes it looks cool but is not suitable for a sig. The second is much better but still a little large for my liking and is not something I want to keep having to scroll past to find the next post.
See the three banner adds at the top of the whole page? Each of those are a sensible size and give you more than enough room for pics to show that you like wheeling and have obviously got some cool mods.

RunnerUp, seriously, try turning the sigs off, you'll love it. You've got plenty of know how on what can be done to our rigs and you know how to search for stuff so what are you really gaining from reading them? Plus you can always log out if you want to see what might be there.

its funny you should say that CSL, i had actually planned on having the old "if you cant beat them join them" along with a ton of pictures of my house, dog, cat, pet rock and such. but seriously, im just over it, every other board i frequent has that ability turned off for this very reason, its just annoying to scroll thru.

for the record, i dont have dial up, and im not even sure thats offered anymore, and its more about this site crashing than speed loading the pages, but to be frank ive had pron load faster than some of these threads.

and snow... rules are there for everyones enjoyment of the board, by "bending" the rules to allow for YOUR signature picture, if the mods let you get away with that than how could they enforce the rules, which is exactly how this got out of hand in the first place probably.

and what do you think this thread is, its the first "wave" trying to create change, but i guess i just cant speak as well as obama.

i actually believe somewhere there are posts of gator greg and thai speaking about pictures in the sigs.

the issue is: the staff is NOT enforcing the rules... PERIOD

its not just "one" person thats violating the rules.. its up to the staff, to enofrce the rules, and when they DONT, thats when the forum goes down hill, I could name a few other forums, but wont..

For the record, IMHO sn0wrunners sig is not to big.

Damn RunnerUp, I think your taking this way out of hand, and now you win the award for the two largest pics ever to be in a sig. I think all the big pics are gone now, so what's left to ***** about and is it even the big of a deal? I didn't think Snow's Sig was that big, it was kinda long but it never bothered me.

Runnerup, i understand your frustration, but you are blatantly violating the signature rule. I would not mind that you guys tell me WHO has violated and i can PM them to ask them to resize it or fix it. I have done so with several individuals already. Who else? Just tell me and i will enforce the rule. However, i am NOT going to go through all the posts and all the members signature. This is the best solution for now.

Therefore, i encourage you to take down your signature after a while. I don't mind that you are doing this now to make a statement.

Let me remind everyone of what i said in the thread linked above:

Rules are there as a way to help guide people on how to act on this forum. As noted, none of us (admins and mods) are around 24/7. Therefore, we cannot oversee everything all the time. Yeah, if someone blatantly does not follow the rules repeatedly, then we will consider taking actions. Every one of us at some point have broken the rules...but if strict enforcement were applied, this forum will consists of very few members and will frankly be quite boring.

For the most part, we give the members the benefit of the doubt.

Also, you can turn off the signature viewing option in your User Control Panel (CP) if it bothers you so much and you don't want to see them.

Says the guy who in violation of the rule.

Please fix your sig since the old rules are in affect and will be enforced since this has become and issue as of late.

Turning them off solves one problem but like ric pointed out it's nice to see someone's mods w/o turning the option on and off so if people just stick to the guidelines we won't have a problem and we will be more on top of the rule.

Newer software will just show sigs in the first post of the thread and not show it for posts thereafter so that would ease clutter.
