Sorry for not a whole lot of technical upgrades, these 'days off' were cut short and I did a big road bike ride....
However, my sister did run Imogene Pass; yes I said she RAN this pass...here is the link to the 4WD Road. It is supposed to be a very nice 4WD trail, good for rigs like we all have (at least hopefully!!). Here is the link to the trail if anybody is interested:

While we were cruising the beautiful state of Colorado, we decided to give Black Bear Pass a shot in the Hulk. BEAUTIFUL trail, and is highly recommended. I would be willing to bet a stock 4WD Runner could do it. Here is a link to the trail, and enjoy some photos!!!!

Sorry, there are not a lot of 'flex' photos. We were attempting to make it to the peak of the falls and then back down in a certain timeframe....however you will notice I did lead a couple of Jeeps down the road!!! In my honest opinion, the San Juan Range of the Rockies is the most beautiful in this country!!!
This lady in the Jeep took quite a few photos of the rig, just to show other people...that is always a compliment!!

Hi-Lift Mounted
I did mount a 48"Hi- Lift to the roll bar and am very happy with how it turned out!!
I was previosly asking about the preference in Hi-Lifts and had I gone any taller than 48" this mounting position would not work!!
***Something to note if anybody else decides to mount it in the same position: it can vibrate and be irritating!!! I threw a bungee cord around all moving parts!!***

Thanks Fightman! Next big project is the CBI rear bumper. I went a different direction with the swing away, and am really excited to get it installed. I am out of town for 3 more weeks, and so it should be there when I get home!!
Those trails are certainly beautiful, I think the San Juan Range has the best looking mountains in Colorado.

CV boots
So I had to drop the rig off at a shop to replace my CV boots. It is nearing snow/elk season and I was not interested in throwing the truck in 4WD with leaking CV's!
I had the parts to swap out one set of inners and outers, but simply ran out of time to do it myself. I had 7 trees to cut and split, which took all of my project time this days off....I know it is a poor excuse
Anyway, I am hoping they do a thorough inspection while they are down there because I have been noticing a pretty heavy vibration when downshifting to around 3k RPMs...any ideas on that???

I've had 2 incidents where I've had a customer complain about vibration while decelerating.... both turned out to be the rear u joints...just my .02
First one kicked my ass man I couldn't find it.

Thank you Smog-guy. From what I know about u-joints, I should be able to visually inspect to see this damage...is this correct?

Yup...maybe try to move the driveshaft around and inspect for play...

Cbi time!!
So the bumper arrived, and the work began as soon as I got back to the United States!!!
Nathan from CBI Offroad (maker of the bumper) was very helpful, and as you will see the packaging was phenomenal. I was missing a couple little things...but they were quick to respond and get the parts to me!!
Install is decently involved, but takes nothing more than:
-Socket set, metric
-Drill capable of drilling the frame
-**If not aligned, a pry bar or a couple is helpful***
-A friend is very much advised for safety
Here is a photo of the package as it came, the cardboard was NOT damaged when I got it...I just pulled it off out of excitement before I realized I had no photos yet!!
Step 1: Remove old bumper
Very simple task, just some metric bolts and it comes off in pieces. I did not take a huge amount of photos. I apologize
There are 4 hidden bolts under the plastic lining, so that needs to be removed (simply snaps off)
You also need to remove the brackets that the old bumper is bolted to so they are not in the way...
Bumper removed!!!!
Step 2: Install the new bumper
***This is somewhat tedious due to the wing supports, this is where a friend is helpful!!***
Disconnect the tricky rubber piece that holds exhaust pipe to the hanger. Then tilt the bumper back and lift in to place.
At this point, the bumper can hang on the back portion of the frame rails, and is RELATIVELY secure. You will need to raise it a little bit to get a couple bolts in to mark the remaining holes to drill....
***There are a total of 7 bolts per side to secure the bumper. My truck already had a tow package on it that used 4 bolts per side, so it only required drilling of 3 additional holes per side. No photos of the hole locations, however it is self explanatory***
I had to use a C-clamp to align the bracket to the frame rail perfectly as to not strip the nuts that are already welded inside the frame of the truck:
And the bumper as she sat initially!!
Step 3: Attach swing away tire carrier
This is straight forward, as the spindle is already attached to the bumper. Just slide the swing away over the spindle and then bolt on the top sleeve to secure in place. Great design on this whole product!
At this point, you are done!!!
When doing my test drive, I heard a relatively annoying and quite loud banging on the passenger rear side. It turned out to be that the wing of the bumper was hitting the underside of the body and fender flare when I hit bumps in the road. This worried me!!
I talked to Steve at CBI (VERY helpful) and we decided to try and shim the frame rails. We talked about getting some plate steel and drilling a hole through it...but I went the cheap way and bought a bunch of 1/2 inch washers!!
After inspection, it was obvious that the bumper was not totally level. It sat lower in the rear of the vehicle so it made sense to shim it such that there was more gap under the flares and the entire bumper sat LEVEL. Easier said than done, but here is what I ended up doing...
VOILA!! Worked out great, as level as I can make it and NO noise while driving!! Some of the final product. I think it matches the Shrockworks bumper VERY nicely...

Driver Side Oh S*** Handle
Installed the 4WD handle to match the passenger side. This is an easy job, getting the parts in the right color was the hardest part for me!!
Just cut the felt off the holes, that are already in the liner, to expose the threads. Then put the handle on, and bolt in place!!
A photo of the parts I ordered, got the numbers from a thread I posted on here. Do NOT need all the parts listed. Just the handle, the cover clips and two bolts...
