HULK Build Thread

let me know when you get your exhaust routed.

Mine bumps a little bit on certain bumps. but dam it looks good all tucked up inside the bumper.

looking good for sure.

Just creeping over from the 5G side as green is my favorite color and wanted to see one modded up. Very nicely done my friend! Read the thread and you did very good work and the documentation is first rate. That is a nice looking vehicle. I am patiently waiting for green to be offered on the 5th gen...

So I had to drop the rig off at a shop to replace my CV boots. It is nearing snow/elk season and I was not interested in throwing the truck in 4WD with leaking CV's!

I had the parts to swap out one set of inners and outers, but simply ran out of time to do it myself. I had 7 trees to cut and split, which took all of my project time this days off....I know it is a poor excuse :(

Anyway, I am hoping they do a thorough inspection while they are down there because I have been noticing a pretty heavy vibration when downshifting to around 3k RPMs...any ideas on that???

Do you have an elk tag this year? What sex and unit? Good luck, let us know how you do.

Sorry for delay!!

MTDew, do you mean your exhaust bumps since you re-routed or the bumper still bumps the fender on certain turns?

I thought I was going to have the exhaust routed, but upon further inspection I will need to cut on the body to make room....did you do this, what tools did you use, angle grinder...????

Thanks!!

Very nice...did you ever figure out your vibration?

Never figured out exactly what it was to be honest, but after putting the rear bumper on...there is no more vibration. I checked u-joints and got a second opinion on them as well after your recommendation. I am still a bit perplexed, as it seems to me that the extra weight in the back took care of it somehow. I am not done digging though!!!

Bumper looks great man! Your rig is really coming along! :guitar3:

Thanks Fightman, always great to get compliments from guys like you!!

Awesome man, thank you for the compliment!! I think you should step back in time and rock a 3G!! Those 5G's are pretty, but come on how can you argue with a classic?!?!

Shrockworks and CBI for the win - looks great!

Thank you sir!

Bull tag, unit 66 2nd season rifle. Oct 22nd-30th. I took off work, and am literally scouting every day for this entire month....HAHA!!!!! Wish me luck!!

Some Offroad time

Some shots of this scouting couple weeks!!

Did not meet a trail or road that I could not conquer, that is always a nice feeling. Also, there were 2 times in which the stock bumper likely would have drug, but with the new CBI I was in the clear. Sorry for the lack of good 4WD photos, we were trying to find elk as opposed to getting 4WD photos!!!

Had to sight in rifle

Awesome. How was the scouting? What are you expectations, size wise? Think your hunt will coincide with the rut?

Never have any expectations! Would like to get a bull that is legal, I am not a trophy hunter...and the meat is really not all that great. My uncle is hunting for a cow, so hopefully we can both fill our tags which will in turn fill about 3 families freezers.

Scouting has been going well, have seen some big animals and some big animals coming out from teh 1st season hunters. I am going to hit it hard 1 more day tomorrow, and then the season starts. Will keep you posted!
