If I get a TE, it'll likely get seat heaters and a remote start immediately. But if I'm going to get a TE, I want the KDSS. The nav I could take it or leave it but it's actually not priced bad so, I'd prefer to have it. Not a deal breaker though.
Looking for colors: black, magnetic grey metallic, or silver.
If I can't find what I'm looking for, I'll get an SR5 w/ leather (for the heaters) and put my own suspension in it.
I would like to ask a technical question regarding multi terrain select function. That is simply software, correct? There are no extra bits of hardware, aside from the dials, different than a 4wd w/ atrac system right? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Had my choice of half a dozen TE's...but they only had one Salsa red...seemed like all the other T4R's were black, silver, or white...:redbrick:

^^This. Trying to find something other than a TE on my local dealer's lot will require the virgin. After the last 10-12 inches of snow fell, the dealer's TE inventory was reduced in half.
This Salsa Red TE with Nav and KDSS has been sitting at Carmax in Laurel, MD for the past few months.

I nearly picked it up myself until I decided on a LE instead. I think it has all the options you want if you're in the area to grab it
You can get the factory remote start or the Pursuit extended remote start that works with the 4Runner w/o any issues.

How long does that usually take?
Are people using multi terrain? Seems redundant to atrac, no?

Finally found a TE near me in August. Came with remote start from factory, not sure if they stopped that option for 2012.
Interesting. Could have been a dealer installed accessory?

that's a placebo effect, really. multi-terrain select adjusts the amount of wheel slip the 4WD system allows, but doesn't affect KDSS in any way. KDSS is purely mechanical/hydraulic.
