Hybrid 4 Runner?

if everyone was concerned with gas mileage we would still be driving around Honda CR-X HF models, or the Honda Civic VX, Toyota Corolla CE. These cars would be cool.

unless I start seeing hybrids hitting 200K miles without major expenses (i.e. having batteries replaced) I vote no. Otherwise, the cost of maintenance almost offsets the gas savings.

The husband of a co-worker of mine has a Prius with 175k+ miles and the original batteries are still going strong.
So far, only regular maintenance has been done to this vehicle.

Cars have been perfected more than SUV's though. The main SUV hybrid out right now is the Ford Escape. But being a Ford, I wouldn't expect it to be great. :biggrin2:

FYI, Unless things have changed, I believe Ford licensed the hybrid technology it uses in the Escape from Toyota.
