Hydraulic winches

I loved the milemarker hydro winch I put on my hummer. Aside from being slower than death that thing pulled hard and never stopped. Thinking about adding one to the 87. Since I don't have a.c. I was thinking add a pump there. Has anyone done it? In the hummer it used the power steering pump but I'd rather not on the runner.

hydraulic winches are great. hard to beat that duty cycle.

but, the engine has to be running.

I was in a situation once...rolled upside down. I had the only winch in our group. I was able to winch myself back over, with truck off. id have been screwed with a hydro winch.

aren't they also larger? will they fit in a standard winch bumper?

I've contemplated the engine running thing and decided I still like the hydro. The size thing I hadn't thought of. Ill have to look into that. I know electric is much simpler but I just loved that hydraulic one I had.
