ZT,

Don't leave. This is a very friendly forum, just give it a chance.

Agreed, this is one of the best and most friendly automotive forums I've ever been on. Try out a BMW or VW forum once.... those are where a lot of the *******s and Douche Bags hang out.

I'm going to disagree with you guys. If the mild criticism he got over this is the "worst he's seen in 10 years of moderating forums", then he needs to go back to the Hello Kitty forum he came from.

The idea that he filled his cylinders with water after splashing through a one foot deep mud puddle is ridiculous. He's leaving something out, and his little hissy fit when you guys called him on it is even more precious. Let him go.

I'm going to put this in the simplest and most adult terms I can. I have said all along that the situation didn't make sense hence my disappointment in post #1. But to flat out accuse someone of being a liar over it is absolutely insane. I suppose on my forum (supraforums.com) myself and other moderators and even members are a tad more grown up in how we approach things, not surprised really as its an older crowd age wise with more respect, not many 20-30 somethings can afford a 30k+ 1993. I guess I have been jaded in that respect but seriously being new here (which I am new on alot of forums, I tend to join one when I own the particular car that fits, and having owned over 100 vehicles, im on ALOT of forums) but I haven't ever been treated so rudely on one, again, results may be atypical, but I gather there are a few OK people here but most are immature, self righteous, pretentious and judgmental pricks. So with that, I close. Mods, lock the thread (if any of them even check threads in their respective areas)

First off, no one called you a liar. You are using that word.

These guys said you might not be competent and you might not be telling all the details (not out of malice) but could be a variety of reasons.

Most often on this forum people don't give all the details "just because"

Your situation is very rare, basically unheard of. I'm sure peeps would be less skeptical if you had posted pictures of water in the engine ect .

Based on what you have said so far I don't think the puddle was the reason.

Here's my theory: you were driving through a puddle and threw a rod right as you got some splash. Even with the water intake from that puddle I doubt it cause it to throw the rod instantly as you went through the puddle. Why did throw rod? Well it is a second hand engine so we don't really know its history.

Us mods do check our respective forum, thanks. As far as people coming off as accusatory, I can see that after reading 5 pages of "how, I don't understand, are you sure" and whatever other types of unhelpful posts. I'm sorry this came out this way but for the sake of helpful tech, please post another thread as to what you did to get into this place with your engine, diagnosis and how you're fixing the engine. I will lock this thread, hopefully your next thread if you choose to create one will be a productive and useful thread.

@everyone else:
I understand too that the circumstances on how his engine got the way it did is odd. I saw a 4runner go through mud and drive home even after being washed fail to start the next day. Cause: mud got into the timing belt cover causing the timing belt to slip. How did that much mud get into a sealed area and why didn't it cause issues right away? Who knows.... Things happen in funny ways sometimes. Lets try to keep things productive and helpful please.
