when I first saw that, I felt the same way.
I dont really like the Tacoma friend end over the 4Runners, but the 4Runner front bumper and Tacoma front end really looks great.

I have a Taco and It think it would look better with a 4runner front end.
IMO, the glass headlight looks 10x better then the taco headlight.
I think that because this is a rare mod and we are so used to the way the 3rd gen 4runner looks, it makes it look desirable.
FWIW, some people like the way the pre face lift 4runner look verses the fat lip 4runner. It is all a user preference.

Yeah, this runner has been posted here a couple times, and I think it is possibly the hottest one I have seen that isn't completely tricked out with off-road goodies...
...except for that Scion emblem. The guy said he had it sitting around and put it on as a joke, then decide he liked it. To me it's kind of like tits on a bull.
There are a couple other guys that have done this mod, one did a walkthough here, I think his name was TDagget or something like that.

Thats what I like about it. If mine had that swoop I'd bedline half the side like my old 80 series. That said I'd only do it if I stumbled up on a set of color matched fenders for next to free so I highly doubt that will ever happen.

I think that Toyota shoulda mfr'd these with that front end at some point. The plastic headlight of that front end is the only negative about it. The 01-04 Tacoma grille is 10x nicer aesthetically than any T4R, the headlights & corner lights flow better, and the fender lines look way nicer and more agressive than the straight line on the runners. I agree with COB that the T4R bumper looks better with that front clip too. I'd do it in a heartbeat if I could find the parts cheap enough!

Yea i feel the same. I just think its different to what we see all the time. I would like to know if it would just bolt up nicely and no cutting or drilling.

I really dont like it but if the guy who done it likes it thats all that matters and i agree with the others who say it looks more aggressive than the 4runners.

That grill is awesome. Thats one of the first things I noticed about tacomas when I first started liking them. But as mentioned, our 4runner lights are better. If you could put that grill on the 3rd gen runner, now that would sick

The headlights of that gen Tacoma (01-04) actually have the better light pattern of the 95.5-04, it's just a shame that they're plastic. I had a 01 doublecab Taco and had to use the headlight restoration kit to get rid of the haze. I had marginal results with it too. Going from that light output to my '96 T4R makes me depressed :moping:

Ya I remember the odd light pattern was one of the first things my dad noticed when he first rode in mine. Dont the later 3rd gen headlights have a better pattern?
looks pretty awesome, the only thing that irks me is that he left the rear highlander fenders. not only are they not big enough to match the front taco flares, which looks like a prerunner fender, he didnt even paint them to match. the one unshiny part throws it off for me.
