I HAVE HOODSCOOP! I HAVE HOODSCOOP!!! First of all, I want to thank everyone who supported my crazy @ss idea and gave some valuable insight about my decision about adding a second 4Runner to the family aside from the already existing '05 SR5 (my other thread, somewhere, too lazy to link right now, go search). I'm just so psyched right now (sorry, '80's kid talking) I don't know where to begin! Very mixed thoughts, kind of unreal. But anyhoo, I am now a very proud owner of a brand spanking new 2007 4Runner Sport Edition V6 4x4! In SHADOW MICA! I was actually surprised I was able to score a Shadow (being rare as they are on most of the dealer inventories I searched). It's pretty bare bones stock but I got what I wanted and I'm very happy. The Valor tip and front skid plate are coming in this week so I'll slap those on as soon as they arrive. The dealer was also nice to throw the wheel locks in as a freebee. Took delivery today at Walnut Creek Toyota (very nice and very funny people there). They also had the new Tundy on display and had a BBQ event. More pics to come, I have got to calm down and organize all my paperwork for now. But enough, I know you guys and gals want the pictures, so here are my official good and evil twin 4Runners (sorry about the quality but my photography sucks, I should get AlphaQup to take some pictures) At least my two year-old approves of her new ride.

The odo had 2 miles on it when I test drove it. After a nice long test drive and fueling I took delivery at 10 miles.

Thats a sick truck. I wish I could have gotten that color instead of Titanium, but titanium is a close second in my book. Why did you get the V6 over the V8? Any specific reason besides horrible gas mileage? I wish I could swap out my 04 headlights for those new fixtures. That is the best part about the new trucks IMO.

sub, no V8's anywhere to be found in Shadow. It's ok, I'm perfectly happy with a half dozen banger. Plus I probably couldn't afford it anyway. My sales guys said the only V8's that usually come in were Limited's - way out of my league. I guess the SR5 and SE together make it a V12!!

Well, you should be here in TX. The Shadow Mica are more If I'd have wanted Shadow Mica, I would have been driving one a while ago. However, been waiting almost 4 weeks now on my white SE 4x4 V8. It was supposed to have been in a week ago already........

Congrats Man!!! i like that pic of your daughter and the 2 4Rs... its all three of your babies! ha! Oh and i remember you saying in your old thread that if you got the new one, your wife and you would have to argue over who gets the V8... but since you got the scoop, i think that settles that. I would personally take the scoop over the extra 2 pistons. Now, let the moding begin!

It's odd how Toyota determines which regions get what and how much of it. The dealer said he had three other SE's - Titanium, Galactic, and White (all V6's though) and just one Limited (V8 - Titanium) on the lot which I didn't see (probably hidden somewhere in the fleet). The rest where SR5's. On a separate note, they had a Tundra up on some rails for display and I took a peek underneath. I wish I had taken a picture of it because it had one BEEFY drive shaft.

Thanks! Yeah my daughter was excited too as she kept wanting to climb inside and play with the switches and wheel. She definitely knows the concept of having something new. But no V8, both my 4r are v6's. My wife is excited too since she likes the SR5 a lot. Well, all I can say is she can have those dang Third Row Seats! Never did me any good but take up precious cargo space. I know I will love driving the SE as will my daughter as she will be riding in it for the most part (*sigh* gotta move the other carseat).

I have to admit though, when driving the SE home I was following my wife (who was was driving the SR5). It felt strangely familiar but different. The XREAS IS FRICK"N AWESOME. Smooth. I felt strange seeing my SR5 being driven by someone else ahead of me. I kinda felt bummed I wouldn't be driving it as much anymore only after a year and a half. I didn't even realize it looked so damn good from the rear (hey, what the heck do I know, I'm always behind the wheel and all I see is hood). I also need to take pics and compare the interior color schemes. Literally it is like night and day. The Titanium's interior is bright happy go lucky, the Shadow's interior is dark meaner and carbon color slick. I even had the thought of taking the Valor tip and front skid off the SR5 just to see how it would look like on the SE. Glad I didn't, couldn't do that to my trusty '05. Sorry, I'm just being a giddy n00b as far as the SE. Always wanted one, like Ralphie and his Red Rider BB gun!

Thanks. No Limited anytime soon. More like never. :nono: I think these two will last me a good long time. In the meantime, I'll be brown bagging my lunches to work for a long while. Oh well, so much for that new 50" plasma tv I've always wanted too, maybe next time. My hoodscoop wants have been answered though.

I'll take more tonight. Some of the interior and the little things like the integrated hook loops on the tube rack's cross bars (my '05 doesn't even have those!). Unfortunately it's been raining the past couple of weeks here in NorCal and won't get any sun shots until Saturday. I'll try then. Although in bright light you can see the dark charcoal color along with a slight dark forest green. I'll give it a good wash and start the first detail come Friday evening into Saturday. I'm debating if I should clay it because the paint's still relatively smooth no fallout yet. The dealer said it was only on their lot for a week. The manufacture date is 01/07 according to the door jam plate.

Congrats on the new truck! You made a great choice with color. If I was getting a new 4Runner, it would have to be Shadow. Can I assume that you handed the SR5 to your wife and you get the new toy? Actually, your garage looks a lot like mine (2006 4Runner and 2005 4Runner.) Any thoughts on mods yet?

Thanks again, guys. I'll post more comparison pics soon, just too tired. I was surprised by the amount of different subtleties between the two years/trims. I just couldn't sleep last night, I just had to sit in it. That new vehicle smell just permeates throughout the entire garage, love it. I even stared at the airbag tags they sew into the sides of the seat for a while and the sides of the headliner. It's really hard to contain the excitement of something you've always wanted for a long time. It's been sitting in the garage for two days now and raining cats and dogs here in the bay area and I just don't want to take that chance of somebody hitting it (I know, I know, new vehicle syndrome). We have a lot of idiot drivers in the SF bay area who don't have the good common sense and conscience for others' well being and safety. They drive FASTER when it rains here. Idiots. Looks like it clears up on Friday so I'll roll it out and break in the engine. It also feels good to be the very first AND last customer to ever test drive the thing.

Thanks, Mark. Yes, my wife does get the SR5. My buddy is picking up my old '91 Acura Integra this Saturday. It's convenient too since my wife and our friend both work for the DMV (I don't have to stand in line!). By Saturday the SR5 will be "officially" hers. As for mods, I plan to slap on a Valor tip on the exhaust first thing. I figure the SR5 has it, the SE should too. I also ordered the front skid that will go on next. At the base level I want both runners to have those at the least. Although, I'm debating though of getting a combination bull bar/skid of some sort instead. I also held off modding the SR5
because I knew I was getting an SE down the line. I wanted to save my money for that instead, knowing the SR5 would go to my wife. It would also save me the trouble of swapping them over. This is crazy - I'm already thinking of a lift and REVO's for the thing! I had some crazy idea that I would get a set of Bridgestone Dueler A/T's and slap the Dunlops on the SR5. I'm also seriously considering swapping out my smoked chrome grill for a colored keyed one as some members here have done already. Though, the smoked chrome compliments the Shadow color really well (I wish they named it something else because every time I hear it, it sounds like food or some like. ie smoked salmon). That's going to be a tough decision. Man I really need to slow down! Oh, but I definitely need to do the child carseat pad/mat mod (don't want my new charcoal seats ruined). Fear the Animal Crackers.
