I have the worst service department luck

I say call that Cobb County dealership until they replace your seat cover, and THEN take it to another dealership. You're right that you shouldn't have to call the Cobb dealership, but put some pressure on them to live up to what they agreed to -- get them to replace the seat cover, and then never go back ... don't let them drop the ball on this.

The last thing I was told was... "We'll give you a call when your new seat cover arrives, it should be here in two or three days". I would call them, but I shouldn't have to at this point.
Think about everything they told you... why would you believe them on calling you back?

Keep in mind that dealerships (and almost any store/business) has an organizational structure. The "sales" side doesn't communicate with the "service" side. Chances are both sides think someone else is taking care of your problem. They don't really care because nobody is bugging them about it. In the ideal world the GM should care about both.

However, he's more worried about sales than your oil problem (in his mind its really just an annoyance). Yeah you can say "I won't buy here again and I'll tell all my friends never to either!!!" Unless you can take away huge portions of his business, he doesn't really care. Trust me, even with this website you're still only talking maybe a dozen sales. An idiot salesperson can easily loose that many.

Stay on them. Get your new seat cover, thank them for it, and take it to another dealership. That's my two cents.

Stories like these are why I hate taking my car (and my boat) back to the dealer. The people who work in the "service" department aren't any more qualified than I am.
