I Know, Not the Right Place...

I know, I just joined this forum a few weeks ago, I have had nothing but great conversations with other members. I have promoted this site to others and even met another member, a member that lives down the road from me. I also know that I should never, ever, burden a community, especially one that has recently accepted me...

However, (most of you clicked away by now, and that's okay) last week, my wife's brother was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. His name is Aaron, his lifestyle is completely opposite of most everyone we know, but his heart still beats, no better or worse, just with a different rhythm than most.

Aaron, my wife's brother is only 28, he's married to a wonderful wife and has the coolest 4yr old daughter (Elvie) you'll ever want to meet. Just don't take toys from her, she'll rip your head off, and then make your decapitated head call her princess... You've been forewarned...

"We have all fallen on hard times..." Hmm, too cliche, I agree...

Nonetheless, I've have never fallen on hard times, but when I get close, I pull out the proverbial shovel and start to relentlessly dig/bash/move and demolish dirt and sand to reverse the course.

I can't use the shovel this time. Brain cancer requires more than a shovel... My wife's brother (Aaron) and his young family needs all the support we can gather...

I don't know what it's like to be diagnosed with brain cancer, but I do know his young family will need support.

If you read this diatribe for this long, then try to check out tumorschmumor.com, if you care, then visit tumorschmumor.com, and if you're indifferent to the cause, the least you could do is donate to tumorschmumor.com

Thanks for wasting your time to read this, and I give you an upfront guarantee that you will not get the last two minutes of your life back... Nor will Aaron...

By the way, if you visit the site, I'm the first one on the list for Mohawk Madness, just saying, 2k raised = my head shaved...

Very sorry to hear that.

We've all been touched by cancer. Some more than others, some younger than others but all still touched. Not just our families, friends, neighbors but our pets too. Its insidious. I pray for your bro' in laws peace as well as your family's. Enjoy every moment, we never know when it will strike us too. Amen.

It's always awful to hear about somebody's loved one being diagnosed with cancer. Both of my parents have had cancer in the past, so I can relate to how you feel at least a little. I will keep your brother-in-law's family as well as your own in my prayers. As my dad always said, "enjoy every day, because you never know when it'll be your last."

Thank You

Thank you all for your kind words. Time heals all wounds and apparently, with the correct treatment, time can also help with brain cancer.

Been a crazy year, but glad to report that my wife's brother, due to proper treatment has had a sizable reduction in his his brain tumor(s) and they continue to shrink. He's beginning to regain site in his right eye due the reduction in pressure. My niece is a crazy 5 year old redheaded nutcase, just like my my wife was decades ago, but she seems unaffected by the whole ordeal. The niece (Elvie) is kind of an evil ginger though, she's nice, but I think shes only nice so that I won't suspect her of silently eating my soul...

My brother-in-law has high spirits and they get higher with each report from the doctors.

In fact, my wife just went back to the east coast to meet with the whole family at Disney World last month. They had a blast together. I would have gone, but someone has to keep the dogs and 4runners fed...

Now that things on the home front are returning to normalcy, I plan on becoming more involved with this site and all the great knowledge that this site shares.

Side Note: My wife's horrible, oh so horrible ford focus has finally bit the dust... (YES!!!) So, we have recently purchased yet another 3rd gen 4Runner. Now we have two of them, his and hers, sitting in the driveway, everyday. We're one of "those people," now. You know, the kind of people that have all Jeeps or all BMWs or all Hondas sitting in front of their homes... Personally, I see it as a perfect opportunity for part swaps...

Again though, thank you all for your kind words, they were very appreciated.
