When I had my JGC, over 10 years ago now, it was such a nightmare when it hit 40k. Chrysler does not and will not stand by its products and will leave the consumer in the cold. Such a P.O.S. What I don't get, with all the online resources available ANYONE can easily see what a waste of money this thing is. Some of these go for about 80K now???
Sooo much potential with this vehicle but poor quality is the killer. People still buy this things in droves too! Yes ... the general public is in fact stupid.

As a former JGC owner I approve of this thread. Good laughs. :bravo:
I strayed from Toyota once for a wrangler, which are cool and capable but after the 4th recall in a year on my brand new Jeep I couldn't take it anymore. Have a close friend with a lifted 4 door and issue after issue. it's embarrassing that chrysler can take an american icon and trash it with horrible quality. Consumer Reports don't lie and chrysler is always at the bottom. JGC brand new bought by mom towed 1st week, so many examples!!!! But they do have solid front axles blah blah blah

I remember a thread on here where the guy finally decided to buy a Jeep. He said it was partly due to it being his "mid life crisis" vehicle. I bought a slightly used Land Cruiser for less money and enjoyed my "crisis" without a single recall, breakdown or build quality problem.

I have a 96 4Runner w 213k miles and my step-dad has a 96 JGC(ZJ) was 140K miles. Has has to line the garage with cardboard because of how much oil it leaks. He had to have pretty much his whole front end rebuilt earlier this year, A/C doesn't work and last time I went over there something else was wrong with it.
I have replaced my Fuel Injector and did a full tune up on my 4Runner. Doesn't leak any oil and runs great. The only thing I need to do it is replace the Throttle Position Sensor.
I had a 97 JGC(ZJ) Limited 5.2L w/ 3.5" lift, no sway-bars and 32" BFG M/T's. The best thing about it was the V8 and SFA. I blew the transmission at 120K miles, it was constantly in the shop with random stuff breaking. It was super comfortable to drive and the auto climate control was nice. It was super flexy on the trail but the unibody sucked. If you were flexed out, good luck opening the doors or the rear hatch.

Biggest joke is that he lives in Oz, where there are so many excellent 4x4's out there--that there's literally no reason to even sell FIAT/Chrysler's shitty products.
