I have a 99 sr5 2 weeks ago i ran over a 18wheeler tire my drive shaft cought it it got tangled and snaped my u joint cousing my drive shaft to pull pull my tranny out i NEED A 5 SPD TRANNY if ur around nc area plz let me know 8287135677

if your driveshaft "pulled out" your transmission, you have a lot more to worry about than just replacing your trans.

I think he probably meant broke the output shaft (proper name? sorry Im tired) or ripped it out or something along those lines.

They rip off on the highway all the time. I've pulled them off the highway before, they are HEAVY, you don't wanna hit one.

I imagine at some point running over the wheel would be the best option. How many times do we hear about evasive swerving to miss a deer or a squirel and plowing head on into a tree or rolling in a ditch. Thats one reason i have an arb bull bar, sorry deer.
