i'm lost on this...the other day i finally drove my Runner to work for the first time in about 3-4 weeks, but i have started it everyday...my problem is my VSC lights are on and also the ABS and BRAKE LIGHT...i have a bluetooth OBD II scanner for my phone and it pulled the check engine light for a P0500 for my Speed Sensor and it was just random that the lights came on...my question is where is it located and are they known to just go out? it pulled another code from the CEL P0430 and says Bank 2 catalyst below threshold. question on that is, is that the O2 sensor or cat?

I can not really help you out as far as where the speed sensor is. The 0430 code could be either the sensor or the cat. Without actually hooking up the cat to a analyzer to actually determine if it is indeed bad your best bet is to just put in new o2 sensors and hope that is what it is. I also have the bluetooth scanner for my phone and I just reset the o430 when it comes in. Sorry I cant be more helpful. Good luck.

Fix the bank2 cat below thresthold and your VSC problem will go away. Stupid Toyota!

Depends on the mileage your CATS could have been toast, but try to replace post cat O2 sensor and see if that fix it, if not then pre-cat O2 for bank2.

sorry guys i haven't gotten back but i will try whatever i can...i'm just looking to get it to pass inspection and emissions

Each wheel has a speed sensor, and cable (and connectors) any of which could be the problem.

4 years ago this happened to me after getting stuck in a ditch and a wrecker pulling me out. Either the sensor tore off or the cable ripped, but the lights turned on. Thankfully, I was under warranty and there was no other damage to the vehicle (not even body damage), so the dealer replaced the sensor and wire run on the passenger front wheel.

Replace the Drivers side after cat O2 sensor and then do a zero point and that will clear the VSC lights.
The VSC light will come on when ever you have a check engine light, why Toyota did this I don't know.
