I need ideas for my 5th gen

Hey everybody i need ideas! Is there a website anywhere for 5th gen 4runner parts and accessories.

I need a website w pictures of these parts with it on an actual 4runner to see how it looks.

Look around this forum especially the photo threads. Pretty much anything you could possibly think of has been creatively done already and those guys have done write ups so you can replicate.
 
Check out the Stickies at the top of the Forum. Best ones to hit would be lifted pics, build threads and mod how-to's. If it's available, someone on here has it done. Careful... Once you catch the mod bug there's no turning back.
 
There aren't a lot of options out there unless you're looking to jack it up and make it a gas guzzling pig. Believe me I've been looking

I disagree. There is LOTS you can do without a lift or anything else that would hurt mpgs. Look at Antman's thread for instance.

The majority here are geared for off road/ utility but that's kind of why most people buy a 4 runner, right?

Why are sliders and skids automatically listed as "must buy" accessories in threads like this? You have no idea if this is going to be a trail warrior (probably not) or a street machine. If it is to be the later, then why do they need armor?
I think automotive boards, like T4R cause online peer pressure which makes people to buy things they otherwise wouldn't so they "fit in" with the rest of the online community (which they never have, and probably never will meet).

So, to elaborate on my original advice, buy items that you find functional or need upgraded, don't waste money on what everyone else thinks you should buy because they're giving advice from their perspective, which revolves around their needs or idea of cool.
In short, think for yourself.

You might be right. Maybe I should correct myself and say that most enthusiasts (the type of people who spend time on forums and fix up their vehicles) buy 4 runners for off-road/ utility.

Why did you buy a 4runner?

I'll meet you halfway and admit I bought it for the utility. I've owned 4WD SUVs since 1986 and don't think I could do without one. You never know when something might need hauled in the trailer, a stump needs pulled out of the ground, or a snowstorm comes along. Also, I have a cabin in the WV mountains, so it does see some action there several times a year.

I like to think of it as the "inspiration" to buy things. After being "enlightened" regarding improvements to my vehicle I didn't know I needed.
